The Inn at Oak Creek is exactly as described. It is a former art gallery that underwent extensive renovations to become a B & B nestled on the bank of Oak Creek. The location is quiet and the views are beautiful. It is a short walk to Tlaquepaque Village and not far from Hwy 89 and downtown Sedona.
Several of the rooms are located on the backside of the building, facing the creek. They have private balconies where you can watch the ducks swimming in the creek.
Our room had a fireplace and 2-person jetted tub -- the perfect set up for our anniversary celebration.
The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The only issue we had was the first evening -- the second A/C unit was waiting to be repaired (part on order), so the separate room controls did not work. Late in the evening, someone had turned the thermostat to the lowest setting. By 4 a.m our room was an ice box. This issue was remedied and the rest of our stay was comfortable.
Each day we were treated to a hearty breakfast on the patio, consisting of: the Inn's granola on yogurt followed by a fresh fruit smoothie, baked goods and a warm dish (the broccoli cheese quiche was divine). All this while humming-birds are flying by!
In the afternoon there are always freshly baked cookies on the table and plenty of refreshments.
Between 5-6, hors d'oeuvres are served. It's a great time to bring a bottle of wine and meet some of the other people staying at the inn. Here are some of the goodies we sampled: Delicious Jalapenos stuffed with chicken & strawberries stuffed with ricotta on a bed of coconut, homemade salsa & chips/ pita stuffed with spinach & cheese. You will not go hungry during your stay. In fact, you will need to go for a good hike each day to work off breakfast!
The innkeepers: Letty, Christine and Pam are great resources for planning local activities. They will help you book your Pink Jeep tour and make local dinner reservations. They are tour guides, restaurant critics and concierage all rolled into one!
I can't wait to return to enjoy their new cooking school.
