“had a blast a fantastic place to stay!”

Casa Marina Reef

i stayed at the casa marina reef in sosua dominican republic from 02/05/08 to 16/05/08 and had an amazing time. the hotel complex was beautiful, and very clean. the rooms could do with a bit of a touch up, but if im honest i didnt really spend much time in there. although it could do with a fridge!
there was a great choice of food here, weather you want to eat at the 2 buffet resteraunts or the al a carte. (mexican, italian, seafood) the varieties of food wer great and were all cooked very well. although a friend with me moaned about the veggie food options!
there is a great range of entertainment here weather its water aerobics in on of the 3 pools, always followed by some really funny games, to beach games, and i would definently recommend you watch the evening shows. they are fab. the animation team really do work hard and try to get everybody involved in every aspect of the shows.
but if you have come to chill out there is a choice of 3pools, and 2 beaches. but make sure you keep an eye on the flags as the waves are very strong and somedays they were knocking me down (and im 6 ft 8)! i recomend that you visit the masaage parlor. 23dollars for a 1hr body massage its heaven! if your planning on doing any trips while you are here i would go to the welcome meeting with your rep as it is very useful! but in im honest there prices are very exspensive. if you go to the buffet bar on the beach near the pool tables there is a tour company there and there prices are alot cheaper!
it is safe to go out into sosua, but just keep your whits about you. i had literally only been out a min and i was offered weed and cocaine! but dont that put you off!

If you are looking for an excellent holiday and not to many children then go to the Cassa Marina Reef, I have not one complaint about the accomodation the food is average everyone is ready to help you. The weather is very good the beach works on a flag basis ,black is open orange is open but be carefull red is closed. the beaches were closed about about 5 days out of 17.Now get out of the complex and get to meet the locals they are very friendly most of the time a simple no thankyou will do. occasionaly you might get one thats a little bit pushy just be firm but polite. use your bank card at the ATM machines you will get the bst rate of Exchange. If you want good English food go down to the Rose and Thistle Joes Food is as good as your mothers and she will cook you anything you want for any day you want and its not expensive. You must go to the Checkpoint and meet all the ex pats they are all helpfull and very friendly. And you must say hello to peter and all the staff, I could go on for pages,Just get there it is great.

This resort was great. I have one and only one complaint about this place and that is the food. Oh sorry and that the bars are only open until 11 o'clock. The food was not the best for sure. There were snack bars set up during the day with burgers, fries, hotdogs, chicken wings which were all really good. None of our friends enjoyed the A la Cartes very much. The rooms yes were a bit outdated but nothing that you couldn't stay in. Our room was 1042 and it was very nice. No complaints there. The pools are amazing and very nice. The Cold jacuzzi's were great and it was beautiful watching the water splash up from hitting the reef. If you are going for the beaches but do not like waves do not go here. Some days the waves were 8 feet high and very dangerous. When it is a red flag day, i'm telling you unless you aren't scared to smash your head on the hard sand and possibly break your nose, don't go. But a lot of our friends loved the waves and were great swimmers. They have a club on the resort called the disco it was pretty cool. we had a lot of fun there.
We went on the Jeep Safari Tour which was awesome. I would recommend the one through the hotel with your tour guide. We had a ridiculously fun time. You get to go to an elementary school so bring gifts, such as pencils, paper, toys, clothes, anything. It really motivates the kids to keep going to school. All and all it was an awesome trip and i always said i would never return to the same resort twice, but i would definitely return here. The only thing keeping this resort from a 4 star is the rooms and the bars. They need to be open all night for a 4 star or something. Anyways loved it and would return

“Best Holiday Ever”

I have recently returned from Dominican Republic, Casa Marina Reef, where I spent two beautiful weeks with my husband to be. The place is amazing! There is so much to do all day, there is even evening entertainment every day. We had all inclusive deal, which means u can eat and drink as much as u like. I was nicely surprised by variety of the food...every day different meal on offer, lots of fresh fruit and veg, etc. All organic:-))) Bananas were the best! There are also three other restaurants - Mexican, Italian and Sea food where u have to make booking if u want to eat there. Just go to the reception and they will book u in. The hotel was very clean and very well looked after. TV in the room with 90 channels to chose from - there are even sports channels! Local people are very friendly, staff as well - they can't do enough to help. We booked the trip to Paradise Island - beautiful!.....and we also went to the Ocean World - swimming with dolphins. We paid $150 each. It really is a once in a lifetime experience, however, i think it is too pricey.

I really can't think of one bad thing to say about this holiday. It's a lovely place with everything u need:-))
