We stayed for two nights. Hotel is walking distance from the entrance to Petra.
Rooms were lovely with beautiful views of the Petra mountains.
Restaurants were a bit of a dissappointment. Smoking is allowed. One evening cigar smoking tourists were seated next to the open buffet, blowing their smoke all over the food.
The hotel have two restaurants and meals can also be enjoyed at the Pub. Beware - they all have the same menu so no need to try a different restaurant every night.
Service at restaurants were a disaster - too little staff for all the tourists.
Not enough seatng in the hotel foyer / pub area. If you wante to enjoy a sun downer, go early otherwise you will not find a seat.
Checking in & out went quick & smoothly.

“Perfect location”

This is the place to stay if you are visiting Petra, unless you really want to splurge, in which case the Movenpick would be better. But the view from the Crowne Plaza is fabulous. We arrived in the dark so when we opened the curtains and saw the wonderful sight of the Petra mountains bathed in a soft dawn light we we really delighted. Also saw two wild animals - thought they might be desert foxes on the other side of the permimenter fence one morning. Our room was not large, but adequate. The breakfast was good in terms of food although a bit crowded with large groups (like the one we were with) and so I think it might be a bit much if you were on your own or just a couple. Great cocktails, not too pricey. Lovely pool area. Water was very warm for November - it was hotter in the water than out, although it was quite sunny.

“Reasonable Rates and Direct Access to Petra”

Crowne Plaza Resort Petra

I thought that Petra would be impressive, but I was wrong; It was amazing! The entry through the Siq and the Treasury would be enough, but the scope of the site is so much more than just those two areas. My wife and I rented a car from the Amman airport and drove to the Crowne Plaza in Wadi Musa in a few hours. The hotel overlooks the mountains that conceal the site and is blended into the side of the hill. The entrance to Petra is about 100 yards from the hotel.

The hotel was nice, but not luxurious, with several dining areas including an outdoor patio and pool, overlooking the mountains. Since the hotel is geared for tour groups, comprehensive buffets are available for all meals. However, these are expensive if not included in the room rate. Ala carte dining, at moderate prices, could be obtained through room service. The room was good-sized with a queen bed, table/chairs and patio.

The cost of the room was low and the location unbeatable. For those traveling to Petra, the Crowne Plaza provides all the amenities required for an enjoyable stay.

“Second time at The Crowne Plaza”

Crowne Plaza Resort Petra

This was our second stay here and it was as good as I remembered. The rooms were comfortable, with good views over the back of Wadi Musa. Had some entertaining times watching the goatheards with their sometimes unruly flocks!
Location perfect, just a few minutes walk down the steps and path to the entrance to Petra. Drinks reasonable but ate out so didn't use restaurants.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Pool area fine though small pool. But you are not here to laze around!
Preferred its location to other 4/5 stars.

“Highly recommend”

This hotel is wonderfully located right outside the entrance to Petra which made it ideal, especially after a full day of walking. The hotel was well maintained, staff was attentive, our room was a good size, nicely appointed and had a lovely view. The service overall, whether in the restaurants, the cleaning staff, the reception staff, was first rate. After a day of walking in the hot sun through Petra, it was great to come back to the hotel and go to their pool. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
