“Really nice rooms, but pricey”

Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa

A few friends and I stayed at Morongo for one night over Labor Day weekend. We were trying to avoid driving to Vegas and this was a great option! The room (2 queen beds, canyon view) was very spacious, nice and clean, modern furniture, comfortable beds and good shower/large bathroom. Because of the holiday it was pretty pricey ($228 with AAA discount) but luckily the room was as comparable to Vegas as the price. The casino was really crowded and lots of young 18-21 year olds, but fun. Nice pool area, though bad drink/food service in the hot weather. Due to late checkin and early check out times, they allowed us to use the pool and spa areas before and after checkin/out on the days we were there which was a huge bonus. I recommend it for a quick gambling trip that you don't want to deal with Vegas.

“Wonderful Place!”

We just got back yesterday from our trip to the Morongo Casino and Resort.

We stayed in Casita 20106 for two nights - wish we had booked a third night. It was fabulous! Large living room and dining room with fireplace and a huge flat panel LCD TV. New couch and lounge chair in living room and large 6 chair dining table. There was a large glass french door door leading to the patio with a stunning view of the private pool and the mountains beyond!!
The bedroom was seperated by frosted glass doors that slide open/close. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable pillowtop king bed, nice size LCD flat screen TV, two closets and french doors that opened into a large bathroom with shower for two, soaking jetted tub and double sinks! There was a frosted door that opened onto a private small patio with an outdoor shower that was too cool. The bedroom had double glass french doors that opened onto the same huge patio as the living room with the wonderful private pool. The patio had two plush lounging chaises and a nice wood table and four chairs. We had our coffee outside each morning.

The winds were not bad at all. In fact, it was nice to have the breeze during the day to cool you off when getting out of our private pool. We also used the public pool and the lazy river, which was fabulous. We ate at Cielo and Desert Orchid and had excellent food and top notch service.

We used our private pool at night before bed and it was the bomb. We also took advantage of their huge well equipped workout facility that was overlooking the public pool and mountains.

We are already to book our trip next summer and plan on staying three nights in the same casita room.

We used the casino alitte each night and it was also great.

We recommend this place for sure!!

“Very good for the price”

We stayed two nights on the fourth floor of the hotel, a room at the end of the hallway, thankgoodness because there were noisiy kids running around in the hallway.
The room itself was very satisfactory; there was a refrigerator but if you moved any item you were charged for it and at a usually very high price; so, unless you're desperate don't open the refrigerator! There are a number of food options in the hotel; fast food court and three restaurants; one at the top, "Cielo", very expensive, no dress code, although the decor is good and food very good it did not seem a very remarkable experience.

“GREAT POOL AREA & DINING, BUT NOT FOR VIDEO POKER PLAYERS”

Accommodations were pricey. Room was small but had nice furnishings. As far as being kid friendly, the pool area was awesome-large with lots of things to do--lazy river, slide, swimming, wading & jacuzzi. There is a glass enclosed, but very limited arcade off casino floor. PPV movies($13), Disney Chl & Cartoon Netwk, but NO NICKELODEON. Both food & service in cafe were excellent w/reasonable prices. Beverage servers in the casino were also excellent.
As for the expansive casino--including separate N/S room ala PALA, mostly $.01 + $.05 slots, we were in disbelief at how few Video Poker games there were--NO DBL DBL BONUS IN ANY DENOMINATION! Also, I've never seen such a conservative check cashing policy -- <$150 W/O prior 2+ wk arrangements, in any casino. At night, the casino, becomes uncomfortably crowded.
OK/nice hotel--probably great for a slot/keno players w/o kids, but for my taste I prefere the gaming opportunites and atmosphere of, FANTASY SPRINGS, AGUA CALIENTE(HOTEL UNDER CONST) or HARRAH'S Rincon.

The room we were in had a wonderful view of the mountains. We ate at all the restaurants except the Asian one and the were all very good. Staff was very nice and helped whenever we asked. Pool area was wonderful. Wish we had more time to spend there. We are not big gamblers but put some money in the slots. Had fun and only lost $7. The whole hotel/Casino/Restaurants/Pool were kept very clean. Would stay there again when in area.
