“Very Good B&B”

Pelican Cove Inn

Mar 10, 2008

Pelican Cove Inn is very nice with some very interesting rooms. Hosts were very pleasant, breakfast was excellent. We had a bit of a noisy neighbor with a loud TV, but things settled down early enough to sleep well. The location is a couple of blocks away from the water in a residential area, and it is a bit of a hike right to the center of Carlsbad, but the beach is close and we thought the location worked out just fine. I probably would not stay there if your main activities will be in San Diego, because the traffic is heavy and you'll spend a lot of time on the road. If you are going to be spending most of your time in Carlsbad area, then this is a great base.

“Awesome B&B”

Pelican Cove Inn

5 of 5 stars
Toronto, Canada
Feb 24, 2008

Pelican Cove is one of the best B&B's at which we have stayed in 28 years of travel. Owner Nancy prepared and served delicious hot breakfasts over the five days of our stay. She provided excellent travel advice and suggestions about local restaurants. The room (Balboa) was comfortable and exceptionally clean. The Inn's location was ideal for roaming up and down the Pacific coast and close enough to walk safely to any of the recommended restaurants downtown or to the beach. We will recommend Nancy and her Pelican Inn to all of our travelling friends.

“A wonderful experience at Pelican Cove Inn”

We had three nights at the the Pelican Cove Inn staying in the Carlsbad room with its magnificent Captain's bed. (It has to be seen to be believed).
Having not stayed in a b&b before I was not sure if I would feel comfortable but we had a wonderful time. Every room has its own entrance so you are not walking through somebody's home all the time.
It is in a good position a block from the beach and a short walk to shops and restaurants. It is well maintained , perfectly clean and cosy.
The owner Nancy with help from her two dogs (Lucy & Ricky) does a fantastic job of advising on places to visit , directions etc. Nothing is too much trouble. Her breakfasts are fabulous.
So if you are looking for something a little different than the standard boring old hotel try visiting Pelican Cove Inn, Carlsbad.

“Perfect innkeeper, perfect location”

Perfect location for watching the sunset beachside. Nancy (the innkeeper) had lots of ideas about where to eat or where to go for the best sunset views while sipping a glass of wine. Very clean accomodations. Great breakfast. Friendly, comfortable, relaxing. Great getaway.

“Close to the Beach and Center of Town”

Pelican Cove Inn

My wife and I needed a vacation and wanted to stay in Carlsbad right near the beach. We found Pelican Cove Inn listed here on TripAdvisor so we booked for 3 nights. We can verify that the Inn is EXCELLENT. Our room was delightful and the facility / grounds are wonderful. We were able to park off street, enjoy the beach, and have a wonderful vacation! Being just 3 blocks from the ocean or the center of town was perfect. We even took the "Coaster" down to San Diego and back!
