“Excellent Meal & First Class Service”

Pros: Location, Service & Food

Cons: Slow valet service, crowded with business clientele and after work crowd.

Had dinner here with my family to celebrate my daughters college graduation from UC-San Diego. My two teenage daughters are hard to please when food is concerned. But Donovan's met the challenge. One daughter raved about her grilled salmon, while the other loved her New York strip. To please both of them at one seating, is an accomplishment in itself.

Very convenient location is the Golden Triangle area with excellent staff. The decor is your traditional dark wood gentlemen's club decor. We had a choice between Flemings Steakhouse, down the street and Donovans. We are all glad, that we choose Donovans.

We made a trip to san Diego for our 4 year anniversary. We ate here on the first night and it was to best meal and service that we had the entire trip. I'll keep the review short since I believe that you shouldn’t have to say a lot if an experience is great or terrible.
The food was great and the service was AWESOME. The hostesses were a little uptight, but the wait staff more than made up for it. It cost us $125 for steaks, apptz. and 2 drinks. Worth the money though. Looked like there were lots of couples, not so much families. The only thing that would have made it better was a view of the water.

Would recommend!
