Given prices of hotels in the "revitalised" Hollywood the US$ 80 per room we paid for the Motel 6 just of Hollywood Blvd during our 4 night stay was brilliant. Parking is an extra $10 (and fills up quickly) but it is still a bargain; Motel6 is only 1 min from the Walk of Fame and 5 mins from Grumman's Chinese Theatre. Would also recommend the Roosevelt Hotel for a cool poolside bar close by (7 min walk).

Back to the motel - rooms are what you would expect from the chain- functional, clean, free Wi-Fi and OK for size but nothing special. Similarly staff are polite and competent but not 5 star. The Hollywood Blvd area remains a little scruffy (but much improved) and the hotel appears safe as it is 100metres of the Blvd down Whitley Ave.

In short, exactly what you would expect from one of Accor's basic chains but great value for the area and highly recommended.

After reading the reviews I had a higher expectation for this stay. My sister had surgery in Beverly Hills and we needed a clean, not so expensive place to stay one night. Not so expensive is what we got. Clean? The room had trash in it and a musty feel and smell that was only relieved by running the air conditioner (which works great by the way!). The staff was cordial but very lazy and unorganised. @ check in the clerk insisted she see my sister and her i.d. so she can stay in the room, which was fine but she left her standing there while she had a personal conversation on the phone, not something one wants to do post-op. A large dog made a mess in the door way and it stayed there for well over 2 hours. We asked for a couple extra pillows around 7 p.m. and it was'nt untill almost 11 p.m. we were woke up by the front desk calling our phone to tell us to come pick them up. The upside of the stay; it was cheap, quiet, not far from some interesting sights and apperantly pets are welcome. Oh! Parking is $10 to stay in their lot.

My friend reserved the room for us and I was a bit hesistant. From the outside it is an old building, but the inside is much nicer. We stayed for 3days and it was well worth the price. You are right there on Hollywood Blvd. Room was clean and not noisy at all. Parking wasnt an issue either. I'd recommend if you want to vaca on a budget.

Stayed there for one night while attending a taping of Amercan Idol and then seeing Wicked the next night.

The hotel was a little worn on the edged, but it was more than made up for by the location, price, amenities and the incredible staff. A lot of great places to eat in the area as well. An easy walk to the Panatages Theater as well as the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Theater.

I knew I would be late getting to the hotel. They suggested stopping by and getting a parking pass for the night so I would not have any issues when I got there. Parking was limited, so I really apprecited it. They also suggested a place to park the next while I explored Hollywood before seeing Wicked and then heading that night to Disneyland.

I am heading back to LA in July and will be staying there again.
