“Loved 1801!!”

1801 First

My husband & I wanted to steal a couple of romantic nights in Napa. 1801 First was simply wonderful! The staff provided the consumate in hospitality... from the champagne & hors d'oeuvre upon arrival to the wine tasting social hour, it was over the top. The team of concierges were all incredibly knowledgeable, and able to help us with all the details for winery tours and dinner reservations. But, I MUST mention the breakfasts! Chef Susan is simply amazing. Two of the BEST breakfasts I have ever had. And, she was kind enough to share her yummy recipes so we can recreate the magic at home. I would recommend 1801 first to anyone heading for a few days of wine tasting bliss!!

“Wonderful B&B Experience”

We have just returned from 3 days and 3 nights in Napa, and can't say enough about 1801 First. If you're looking for a first-rate B&B experience during your Napa stay, you will find it here. The decor throughout is fantastic, giving the common areas and rooms a wonderful ambience, and the staff was beyond our expectations. They served us breakfast each morning (which, by the way, was outstanding each of the three mornings), made dinner suggestions and reservations, printed out directions, hosted charming wine & hors d'oeuvres tastings in the evening, and were as helpful, pleasant and professional as any staff at any hotel or B&B that we have ever stayed. The food, as mentioned, was excellent, and they were very happy to accommodate my food allergy. Another huge plus is their shipping service. If, like we did, you buy a large amount of wine but don't ship it through a winery (rather than buying a lot from one vinyard, we bought a little from many different places, so shipping through the winery was not an option), 1801 First will store your bottles in their basement until one of the regularly scheduled pick-ups from the wine shipper they use: the shipper specializes in shipping wine. We left on a Saturday morning, and the shipper was not coming again until Monday - so the staff provided us with all the paperwork from the shipper that we needed to fill out, and then took our bottles and the shipper's copy of the paperwork to their basement for storage until Monday. On Monday, we spoke with the shipper to confirm their receipt of our bottles, and it was quite clear from the conversation that this company indeed is a specialist in shipping wine - because the weather in CA is supposed to be so hot this week, the are holding our shipment, as well as all others, in their temperature controlled warehouse until next week when the temperatures are to be more conducive to transporting wine. Given our impression of 1801 First, we should not have been surprised that the shipper they choose to use is a first class, professional operation. It is just another example of 1801 First's attention to detail and to their guests' every need.

If you are going to Napa and want to stay at a B&B, then this is the place. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back!

This is indeed a luxury Bed and Breakfast with all the wonderful amenities in the room. The breakfast and evening appetizers with wine was first class. The staff were extremely helpful with tours, restaurant suggestions, etc.

“1801 First has "First" in it's name for a reason”

1801 First

San Francisco

My husband and I recently spent a glorious weekend at the 1801 First Luxury Inn in Napa. Rarely do I stay in a place that exceeds my expectations. We were greeted by Maggie, concierge extraordinaire, who offered us a glass of bubbly while she oriented us to the property. Our room (Alsace Amore) was even more beautiful than the photos; the bed was comfy and the sheets were luxurious. A trio of truffles with a personal welcome note were waiting for us...they were truly yummy. The gas fireplace, soaking tub and bathrobes were a nice touch. A local winery provided a private tasting and the chef created some absolutely delicious taste treats to accompany the wine. When we returned from dinner at a local spot, we enjoyed a glass (or was it two?) of port and home baked chocolate cookies that were calling out for us. Breakfast was devine; it was nice having a choice of entrees and times. The staff were helpful and available without being obtrusive....a balance that most places fail to achieve. We were sad to leave but look forward to our next visit to this First Rate treasure.

“Fabulous Stay at 1801 First”

We booked a suite after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and couldn't have been happier. The Inn is lovely and the staff is really outstanding. Great customer service in arranging dinner reservations, in-room massages, hot air balloon ride and giving us recommendations on wineries to visit. The breakfast each morning was so filling that we never did eat lunch! This trip was a gift for my husband's birthday and we'll definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends. The staff went out of their way to be gracious, made us feel very pampered and special.
