I came to this hotel on a family vacation to California. It is a beautiful hotel on the outside, with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. There is a great big Jacuzzi tub in the room. We were very excited to be staying in such a nice hotel for a good price. However, upon further inspection, the lamp shade on the lamp in the room was broken and hanging sideways on the lamp, there were food crumbs on the floor, there was a weird stain in the tub, hair on the shower wall, and thin and tiny towels (very bad quality). When we called the front desk to ask for more towels for our room, we were told to come get them ourselves. We did not see any cleaning people the entire time we were there. On top of that, there were twin-sized sheets on our queen beds. No brochures, no hotel handbook or phone number and no alarm clock anywhere in the room. The sheets didn't fit and the mattress pads kept popping off. I would never recommend staying at this hotel to anybody.

A Mother's Day Brunch to forget...

This is by far the worst brunch experience I have had in recent memory. The food was so-so at best--when you could get it (they ran out of the popular items frequently during our short visit), the buffet line was jammed into a back corner, the food selection was very limited and quite ordinary (pancakes, bacon/sausage, pre-made waffles, fruit---IHOP is far superior), the service only fair and the atmosphere (despite the lovely view) was extremely tacky. For a three-year-old establishment, the place was extremely run down and dingy. The seats were very stained and the overall appearance of the restaurant was unappetizing. The place lacked the character.

I wish I had read the March 06 review of this place. It would have saved me the time, money and embarrassment of taking my family to such a low-class brunch.

With some major work on the decor and food, this could be a little gem of a restaurant. Until then, don't bother...

My Girlfriend and I just stayed at the Pacifica Beach Resort. The hotel is ok so far ($129 per room including jacuzzi and fireplace). The location could be better, but we couldn't find any other hotel in S.F. So we were looking for a nice restaurant to eat some seafood and came to the restaurant belonging to the hotel. When we came in, there where 3 tables occupied and one waitress running around. After 5 minutes standing at the front door, the waitress told us to seat every where we want to. And then the sad story begun: We were waiting 15 minutes before the manager asked us, what we would like to eat (remember, there were only 3 tables occupied!!!!). My girlfriend and I orderd some starter and a main dish. My starter arrived and few minutes later the main dish from my girlfriend came also. We complained, that she didn't get her starter. Another 15 minutes later, the starter of my girlfriend finally arrived as well. Later, when we were eating the main dish, a waiter startet to hoover around us.... Just to say: the service-personal was very nice. After our dinner, we complained at the manager (I think, it must be the same manager, another story in this forum tells about). He didn't take our complain seriously. He just said: if your're not satisfied, why didn't you tell me before? At last, you did finish your meal, so you don't have to complain!! Ok, so we paid the waiter directly some tipp, and paid the check (without further tipp) and left... and are happy, to warn the rest of the world from this location... do not go there, I am sure, there are much better (and cheaper) places to go in this area!!

My husband and I and our children stayed here for a couple of nights while we were having our bathroom remodeled (long story). On the outside, this place is trying to be the Del Coronado in San Diego. On the inside, it's a Best Western. There are jacuzzis in every room - right as you step into the doorway. The walls are thin, the pool lukewarm, and the showers small. If you can get a good rate, this place is no worse than other hotels down in Rockaway, but it isn't close to many restaurants (except its own - but we didn't eat there), while Rockaway has that advantage.
