This motel was recommended to me by a friend 2 years ago and I was finally able to take her advise and stay for 2 nights this past weekend. The Mojave is very quaint and comfortable. The owner, who greeted us at the desk, was friendly and welcoming. Our room was updated with period style furnishings. Very charming. Very clean. The room had a small frig, lots of channels on the tv and a great bed. The pool and grounds are very nicely kept and clean. The hours for the pool are 7am to 11pm which is great. We had 2 rooms and the staff was so gracious and accomodating. Bagels, muffins and coffee were ready Sat and Sunday. The motel is walking distance from the Paseo and wonderful restaurants and shops. We loved our stay and will definately return.

We stumbled upon the Mojave just once & the hospitality was so warm, the location so great and the rooms so tastefully appointed that we would now never consider going anywhere else when we get away to the desert for the weekend. It's just such a relaxing low-stress place to stay - like visiting a relative who provides everything you need but gives you plenty of space.
Ask for a room with a fireplace.

We've stayed here twice and decided we would return annually for a little break from LA.

The Mojave is a great small hotel with a retro feel. All of the reviews are spot on- it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood- very quiet, yet walkable to El Paseo, which has many shops and restaurants.

I think all the rooms have a small fridge, and some of them have a small kitchenette- which I found helpful since we were traveling with my young daughter.

The pool is great- it is right in the middle of the courtyard. Both nights of our recent stay we were able to put my daughter to bed, bring the monitor outside and sit next to the glowing pool, while we enjoyed take out.- and we were literally 2 feet from our door.

The staff is very available and very helpful. It is not the Four Seasons, it is not fancy and there are no on site restaurants- but for the price the Mojave is really great.

Our experience with Mojave Resort is similar to previous guests. The "resort" is an old renovated motel. The renovation was excellent. Someone put a lot of thought into creating a nice place with what they had to work with. The public areas are clean, well organized, people friendly, and pleasant. The rooms are nicely decorated with cute little touches through-out. The location of this property is very good...walking distance to shops and dining. The breakfast was pretty good. All in all, I would have to say that the folks at the Mojave have obviously put forth a great effort to make their establishment pleasing. I think that their efforts were a success.
