A group of us chose to stay at the Mod Resort to attend our friend's birthday in the desert. What a great idea it turned out to be! We felt like we were at a private home for the weekend. The ideal concept of a warm and welcome setting felt blissful. Next event we plan to rent out the entire 14 rooms! Classic charm and a perfect location makes the Mod Resort our #1 choice.

My wife and I stayed a few nights at the Mod and were presently surprised. We don't often stay at non-traditional hotels but were glad we took the chance. The Mod is not a traditional large chain hotel so don't expect all the frills of a Marriot Resort and associated extra charges. Nor will you find large crowds, unruly guests and children running around without supervision. This is a small boutique hotel that has about fifteen rooms that is managed by the owner (Laura). The grounds and rooms are kept in near perfect condition. The continental breakfast is served every morning is stocked with an assortment of beverages, fruits, rolls and pastries. The rooms are no farther than 150 feet from the parking area and other amenities. For added security the hotel compound access gates are locked in the evening. Some of the finest restaurants and upscale stores in the desert region are a few short blocks away (an easy stroll) on El Paseo and Highway 111. The Mod is a one-of-a-kind gem.

My friends and I stayed at the Mod Resort during the weekend of our buddy's wedding. The resort was not only beautiful, but extremely comfortable. The service was second to none. Laura, the owner, was your best friend from when you met her until the minute you left. I could not have asked for a better experience and recommend it to anyone staying in the Palm Desert area.

We decided to spend a few days away before the holidays and experience something new. We had never been to the Palm Desert area so we began our search for a resort. We checked the mega hotels but were happy to find the 14 room Mod Resort. I contacted the owner Laura and during a hilarious 30 min. chat we decided to book a suite after seeing the photos she emailed during our conversation. When we arrived Laura greeted us and delivered a couple of apple tini's to start our stay. Laura has created a very cool and trippy mini resort. Her skills as a designer are everywhere, from the furnishings to the logo'ed toothbrushes. The pool and jacuzzi area are very comfortable, perfect for a group or a couple. All of Laura's dining and visitor suggestions were very helpful and tastey. Our suite had a full kitchen so we dined in one night. It is a short 5 min. walk to the shopping and restaurant district. We highly recommend the Mod for those looking for something unique, definitely one of a kind...including Laura.
