Stayed March 10-14 at Cascade Village. Have stayed at this property many times before and really enjoyed it. Unit #38 or 138 (AKA) was nice.
UPSIDE: Lovely cowboy/western theme with large rooms, comfortable beds to accomodate an eight person group. We had a 3 bedroom and 3 full bath unit that has a large kitchen, plenty of space and the views of the snow covered mountains were spectacular!
DOWNSIDE: When you go to the durangomountainresort.com website it shows available lodging and when you click on the Cascade Village tab you are able to see various types of lodging on that property. In the large 3 bedroom/3 full bath unit, it reads "washer and dryer located in unit or in building". What it fails to tell you is that the washer and dryer maybe located behind doors that are locked by the owners and not for guest use and/or that the washer and dryer "in" the building may be in a TOTALLY different building than the one you stay in. If you expect to use a washer and dryer in the unit you are staying in then PLEASE make sure that you will have one available and UNLOCKED when booking. We packed light thinking that we could easily wash our ski clothing each night (as we have done so in the past while staying in some of the other wonderful units). Instead it was a hike/drive to a different building every 30 minutes in the evening to see if one of the 2 washers/dryers were available since MANY other guests seemed to be in the same predicament.
Overall, we REALLY enjoyed our stay at Cascade Village and would consider it again in the future.....we would just pack more ski clothing.
