“Could be better”

I've stayed here a number of times, most recently this past November 2006. I always stay in the Grand Pequot Towers. I haven't tried the Two Trees. I have found that the rooms are large, dark, and kind of bland. There was nothing to write home about. This last time I was there for a business meeting. When I got to the room I found that the TV remote was missing. I wrote a note for the housekeppers the next morning. When I returned to my room later in the day - still no remote. I called the front desk and still no remote. Maybe they saw that I wasn't gambling very much and they wanted me to spend some more time in the casino instead of watching TV.

The room itself was clean. The bed and pillows were like a rock. I had a hard time sleeping very well. Again they might have wanted me to spend the time in the casino rather than sleep.

The food choices are ok. There is a cool sports bar near the Harf Rock Cafe. Overall I think I'd rather spend more money and stay at Mohegan Sun. It's cleaner, newer, and there are better bars and places to eat. Michael Jordan's steak house is the best.

Maybe the new MGM will be better when it opens. We'll see.

“A Good Experience”

I'm not a big one to write reviews but Foxwoods needs some better press. At the time we booked the trip is was with some concern based on many of the reviews written about the resort. After reading all the reviews I was expecting a smoke filled casino, room and all common areas, long lines for dining and general rudeness. Pack your bags folks because nothing could have been farther from the truth. Lets hit "smoked filled" first. Absolutely no worse than any other casino or hotel. Our room was listed as non smoking and smelled like it. The casinos were not any worse than any other casino we've been in and there was a non smoking casino section if someone felt there were issues. As for dining, there were more than enough options from elegant to casual and seating and service were no problems. Service was excellent in the restaurants and the hotel. The only negative to the whole stay was, maybe, finding the type of drink we wanted. There is not enough wait staff in the casinos but that is a minor issue. The complex is amazing and a destination all in itself.

“Even an average room is luxury”

Foxwoods Resort

We really enjoyed the Grand Pequot Tower on our overnight trip to Foxwoods. The only complaint we had was the road construction on the only road that leads to the facility.
Our check-in was smooth, once I got to the right hotel. There are now 2 large hotels in the main building, soon to be 3 with the addition of the MGM Grand Tower.
The room, at a reduced rate, was spacious. The carpet, drapes, bedding, and view were luxurious.
After viewing the beautiful, fall New England countryside outside our window, we decided to order room service breakfast to enjoy the view with our meal. It came on a cart that turned into a table and was elegant. A great way to start the day.
There were many people in the casinos, although it did not seem crowded. I did not see many winners. Some of the areas were smoky-smelling and there were areas (that used to be non-smoking) that were closed off for renovation.
The hotels and restaurants are a class act. Some people allow their view of them to be colored by their success on the casino floor.

“"BAFFLED"”

MY husband and I very recently stayed at PEQUOT TOWER HOTEL. This was our 2ND trip to the CASINO, First time was GREAT ( STAYED AT DIFFERENT HOTEL ). Booked the reservation in advance thru FOXWOOD'S WEBSITE, I even used that WAMPUM CARD, WE recieved a DISCOUNT on our room. "WHAT A DEAL" "HA.. HA...HA". Dropped off our bags and went out and HAD FUN, did some shopping, gambling, the cocktail servers were hard to track down. But, after a FEW TIPS the SERVICE IMPROVED. Had an INCREDIBLE APPITIZER PLATTER at HARD ROCK RES. Went to the THEATER saw a show ( GET THE MATR'D SEATING ). Then did some more GAMBLING and wrapped up the evening with a stop at "FUDRUCKERS" for a custom, made to order BURGER. was VERY GOOD, NICE SURPRISE. Now, about that ROOM we stayed in. I really wished that we had taken a GOOD LOOK at our room PRIOR to heading out to the CASINO. The next morning when I woke up and saw THE STAINED, DIRTY CARPET (WHICH I WALKED ON BAREFOOT .....EEEEKKKK) I was honestly SHOCKED. I HAVE CHILDREN , I know about SPILLS and STAINS. But for a four DIAMOND RESORT... I EXPECT A CLEAN FLOOR. When we checked out at the FRONTDESK, I voiced my dissapointment about the condition of the room, and compared it to " THE OTHER HOTEL" we stayed at. Their reply "WELL THAT HOTEL IS NEWER". So there is NO doubt that I'M staying at that other hotel next time.
PS.... WONDERING IF I'LL GET ANY RESPONSE FROM
FOXWOODS ????
SO MY ADVICE.....CHECK YOUR ROOM...I WISH I DID!!!
WOULD HAVE GONE TO OTHER HOTEL
and skipped the wampum deal

“Opulence with a Relaxed Atmosphere”

Foxwoods Resort

5 of 5 stars

Our experience started when we saw the hotel towers appear in the midst of the forest - a very impressive sight, even though it was raining heavily. When we approached the complex and pulled in the porte-cochere we were immediately attended by polite and friendly valets and bellmen, who attended to our vehicle and luggage, and guided us to check-in.

We checked in at VIP registration, which took place in a private room away from general registration. Our female host was very effiicient and thorough; she took care to explain the services and facilities available, and offered to help us if required during our stay (unfortunately, only one night!). Our bellman was waiting for us at our suite, gave us a "tour" and offered his assistance, should we need it.

Our registration host had explained that hotel accommodation is not segregated into "smoking" or "non-smoking", but rooms are throughly cleaned after guests leave. We always ask for "non-smoking" accommodation, so were a little apprehensive in case we would detect stale smoke. We need not have worried - our suite was very well prepared, extremely clean and pleasant.

The dining, shopping and casino areas were very clean, spacious and well maintained. The interior has been designed and decorated in a tasteful and sophisticated yet relaxed style. All members of staff were approachable, friendly, helpful and efficient . It was obvious that they enjoy their work and are justifiably proud of their hotel.

For dinner we ate at the buffet, which had a vast array of choices, all cooked and prepared to a high standard. Our drinks were replenished when needed and dirty crockery cleared away quickly. When tables were vacated, they were cleaned and set for the next guest within seconds.

The whole experience was outstanding. Great suite, friendly and approachable staff, with obvious attention to detail in every way.

We were disappointed that we had to leave, and wished we had rearranged our plans so that we could stay at least another night. We had a wonderful overnight stay and would love to return whenever we get the opportunity.
