Paula and the other hotel staff were great! Annie in housekeeping was super nice. They worked out any issues we encountered. We would stay there again!

We have stayed here 6 times. It's definitely not a 5 star resort... But the bathrooms are clean and the beds are comfortable (for hotel beds). You park at the front door and walk out the back door right on to the beach! You can't beat that. The pool is clean and the maintenance folks are on top of any problems. The cleaning ladies are always friendly. The best part about staying here is - It's only steps away from the Daytona Pier. There's a great restaurant a few doors down, The Ocean Deck. It has great food and local bands in the evening! We stay here every time we go to Daytona. Just check your snobbieness at the door :-)

Great location....rooms are average and nothing special. The staff were very friendy. Did not get a chance to use the pool or beach...stayed there on the coldest day of the year! O.K breafast...nothing special....

This was my second time to stay here for New Year's Eve with a trip rewards points room. Last year we got an oceanfront king and this year we were lucky to get a parking lot room with 2 doubles. I did call to confirm, always a good idea at this model, and was assured the room was a king although they did no longer redeem Trip Rewards points for oceanfront rooms. The room we first got wouldn't open with the key. A staff member tried to open it and then we had to go back to the desk for another room. The 2nd room had 2 doubles so another trip back to the office was when we were informed that they do not redeem Trip Reward points for king beds. UGH! Very aggravating. The room was a decent size, but the furniture is pure junk! The mattresses were comfortable I will say that. The light fixture was hanging off the wall, but the bathroom was reasonably clean. Towels were just awful with stains and see through. We discovered there was no regular coffee only decaf. Upon visiting the office (we were now regulars!) we were informed they don't do regular coffee anymore! Coffee makers in the room but only decaf. I don't drink the stuff, but how ridiculous. My husband was not happy. They told him he was welcomed to get coffee at the front desk anytime. After the 2nd cup he realized that was decaf too.

If you read the first line you'll see that I said this was our 2nd stay here. Last year we had the oceanfront and that made up for a lot. I won't stay here again. We go for the NY Eve party on Main Street and it is an easy walk for a very fun night. I'll spend the extra money for the Hilton I guess. The Mayan is just as bad and the reviews here for the Saxony make the Super 8 sound like a luxury hotel. It is a shame that we cannot have decent rooms for a decent price in Daytona Beach. I've been defending my home for a long time, and I'm embarrassed to say that all I have heard from our visitors is true!
