Booked on Tripadvisor recommendation as part of our 3 and half week tour of Florida. Stayed here for 2 nights in April and now wished we had booked for longer. Hotel was fine and clean but nothing special. It had a nice warm pool and breakfast was served inside by reception and was adequate. Pool area with hot tub did not have many sun beds but we always managed to get beds eventually as most people tended not to stay inn the hotel during the day. The hotel is right opposite the Southernmost Hotel and 1 block from Duval St. Be aware that to get to the ‘happening’ end of Duval St and Mallory Square its quite a hike, but if you leave yourself half an hour for a slow walk that should do it. I actually liked being a bit away from all the noise and party goers and if you are too tired or drunk to walk back at the end of the evening you can get a taxi bike as we did which was great fun! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will stay here again when we next visit Key West, which we fell in love with

Stayed at the BWH April 3rd and 4th, My wife noticed a damp smell as soon as we entered the room, I dismissed it as her imagination at first. The room was clean and spacious, but the furnishing's could use some updating. We stayed in 117 which had a tile floor which we did not care for. The beds definatly needed replacing as the matresses both had a concave appearance and when you slept both people rolled toward the center of the bed. The pool area is excellent and the breakfast is good (hard boiled eggs, begals, cereals, waffles ect..) location is great close to southern most point and 1/2 block from trolley stop and bike/scooter rental. I noticed the damp smell more by the second day and wondered if a second floor room was better. after reading previous post I guess not. I would stay here again, as it was not to bad but may try another hotel if price is right.

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are quite large, and ours was painted a cool, relaxing blue. It even had plantation shutters on the windows which was a nice touch. We had a kitchenette with fridge and microwave and a table for two. The bathroom was quite small, but there is a vanity with sink in the bathroom with toilet and shower/bath and outside the bathroom as well. Two sinks helps more people get ready faster! The climate control was great, and the beds were comfy. There was a closet that had lots of room and a tv with an extensive channel lineup...more than usual. They offer a simple breakfast which included cereals, boiled eggs, toasts and bagels, juices, etc. They also provide free Internet access via a lobby computer. The courtyard pool and hot tub area are clean and relaxing. We swam twice and enjoyed being able to relax that way after a long day of walking and touring. Parking on property is free!
The property is located on Simonton, which runs parallel to Duval one block to the east. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the heart of the downtown action of Duval and Green streets, but it is nice to be away from the noise! There is an Old Town Trolley stop about a block away which makes it easy to sight-see, and the hotel sells tickets at the front desk. The Southernmost Point marker is about a 5 minute walk. The hotel is clean, quiet, and I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent value in Key West.

Wonderful location! Near the beach and away from the noisy areas of Key West. The motel itself could do with a little renovation. There was a damp smell in both our rooms even though they where located on the second floor. The staff isn´t very helpful. Not much help to finding the best beach, (south beach nice, good restaurant and very close) or other things. We missed a bar or possibility to buy beverages and snacks by the pool and the staff was very keen on telling you not to have any drinks (nonalcoholic) by the pool. The breakfast was poor, better to go to the little café around the corner - wonderful breakfast!
