We stayed at Hyatt Winward Pointe over Spring Break on a Time-Share Promo. We can't wait to go back. The 2 bedroom condo was perfect for a family with 3 or 4 kids. Everything in the condo was clean, fresh and new, decorated with a warm comfortable island theme. The master suite was beautiful. The kids had their own bathroom and each room had a nice television for the young early risers. The kitchen was gorgeous as were the views out the lanai. The presentation for the Time-Share was 90 minutes and low-pressure. The resort itself was impressive! The pool was huge, clean, and never crowded. There is a pool table, shuffleboard, and ping pong outside by the snack bar which my kids enjoyed. Even though the resort was booked it never seemed busy. It was quiet and relaxing. This is the nicest resort we have stayed at in the keys. We will absolutely be back.

“I know Key West pretty well and...”

We are Disney Vacation Club owners, and used some of our points (160) to stay here for the week (Sat. to Sat.). This is a fantastic property! There are many amenities you will love. Like other reviewers, there may be some amenities you may miss. There is no gym, limited activities on the resort, limited housekeeping, no restaurant (there is a snack shack for lunch stuff near the pool), and it is located a bit away from the action (the island is only 5miles by 2 miles so how far away are you really?). With all that being said, it is still great. Every room is the same...2 beds, 2 baths, balcony, full kitchen, dining table, living room w/pull out couch, whirlpool tub, and three tvs. The beds were very comfortable (master has a king and the other is a queen).
It really depends on what you're looking for when you decide where to stay in Key West. Even though it is a small island, it is very diverse. If you want to be right on the action, then stay closer to Duval, but it doesn't really matter. We've done both, and don't prefer either.
I could go on and on, but in short, you won't be disappointed at all staying here.

This was our first trip to Key West although we have always wanted to vist this unique part of Fla. My wife picked this condon complex off the website. The two bedroom, two bath condo was fantastic. Nicely furnished and very functional. Nice large balcony with a view of the water, telescope , and patio furnitrue provided. This property is away from Duval street and in fact faces the Atlantic side of the island. So you enjoy the quiet, laid back atmoshpere of a tropical hotel/condo complex, but c.lose enough to visit the dowtonw area and sunset celebrations.

The pool area was great and the staff and patrons were very friendly.

This was one of our more enjoyable vacations and we will go back.

“Great Place to Stay in Key West”

We stayed at the Hyatt Windward for our Spring Break from March 26 to April 2. My husband and I brought along our teen-age kids (14 year old boy, 16 year old girl) and a friend (15 year old girl). Our condo was absolutely gorgeous. Big deck, tiled floors, immaculate. The kitchen was well-stocked with the basics, and Publix is just a short ride away. The grounds were impeccable. The pool was very nice, and the only thing that would have made it perfect was if it had been oceanfront. We did, however, go to the Hyatt downtown and enjoyed the beach and amenities there. Very nice. We really liked not being close to Duval Street, but enjoyed going there in the 6-seater electric car we rented downtown. The only reason we even needed our rental card was to drive to Marathon to swim with the dolphins. If you're not leaving Key West, I highly recommend the electric cars instead of a rent-a-car. Back to the Hyatt. The staff was very accomodating and every need was met. It is a time-share, but we were never even approached about a tour as is so often the case when you book a time share condo or room. The entire family enjoyed our stay, and we will be back again.

“Had a great time - made a good choice”

Our family of 5 (parents, 2 teenagers and a 9 year old) recently completed a 5 night stay at the Hyatt Windward Pointe. This was our first trip to Key West, and we took a chance on not renting a car based on other reviews we saw. Other than a bit of a panic the first night we arrived hungry (no restaurants within walking distance and no food in the fridge) we really didn't miss not having a car. We bought the 4 day shuttle pass for $65 and this worked very well for our entire family during our stay. It basically left every hour from the resort and dropped us off right in the middle of the action downtown in about 15 minutes. There was a nearby grocery store to where the shuttle dropped us off, and we stocked up with food and drinks the first morning. They also have quite a few restaurants that delivered to the resort - we ordered Chinese take-out one day and it arrived in 20 minutes! The shuttle drivers were very friendly also. I honestly didn't miss the hassle, stress and cost of driving and parking downtown. We got a chance to meet quite a few friendly people in the shuttle from different parts of the country.
One day we rented some bikes and rode up and down the coast. This was really fun, but I wouldn't recommend riding on the downtown streets with small children - there's a lot of traffic and somewhat narrow streets.
The resort itself was excellent. The condo was large enough for the 5 of us to all have our own space. The pool was large and kept very clean, and it was very easy to find lounge chairs. Nice volleyball court, ping pong and shuffle board. The Abbey Road snack bar had excellent food and great cooks - very friendly. Their liquor license had been temporarily suspended during our stay which saved us quite a bit on our bar bill! We basically brought our own stuff to the pool that we picked up at the grocery store.
Not sure if it was due to the fact that were a nightly rental (not time-share) but we had some pretty good maid service every day - emptying trash, making the beds, replacing the towels. The desk clerks and concierge were very friendly and helpful the whole time we were there.
