“Great no-frills place”

We stayed here 2 nights and would recommend it if you want a simple, clean, quiet and inexpensive hotel (we paid £45 a night on Expedia) as a base for exploring Miami.

Room: We had a good sized room on the 1st floor with a king sized bed, desk, fridge and microwave. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was decent enough, if not a power shower!

Lobby: The lobby looked rather dated and had slightly old fashioned decor but the staff on the front desk were very helpful and friendly. There's also free internet access, which was handy.

Location: The hotel is located one block from the ocean and in a residential area of tall condos so we needed to take taxis everywhere - but they could be ordered at the front desk and always came in about 5 mins. Eg $10 to Bay Harbour (shops, boat trips), $10 to Coconut Grove (go to Tu Tu Tango for cocktails on the outside terrace, live tango dancers and artists in residence!) and $25 from the airport. Alternatively you could hire a car as they have a free car park.

Restaurants: There weren't any restaurants within walking distance but we ordered a very tasty takeaway pizza one night and dined in Coconut Grove the other night.

“Interesting Inn”

I stayed at the Miami Brickell Ave. Inn for two nights and found it adequate for my needs. A nice perk of the inn was the hot breakfast provided. One morning french toast sticks and eggs were offered with a choice of several breads, yogurt and fruit. The next morning, fresh biscuits, sausage patties, and scrambled eggs along with the same breads and a bowl of fruit were laid out for the guests.

The room I had contained two double beds, a couple of side chairs, a desk, a small microwave, and a small refrigerator.

Please don't expect an immaculate building. However, this is a decent location for a business traveler who doesn't require a lot in a room.

“Don't bother!”

Brickell Avenue Inn

Where do I start? First I was given a smoking room even though I had requested a non-smoking room. I complained but was told that they were sold out and refused to give me a non-smoking room. Mind you, I had reserved a non-smoking room and I am a Hilton Honors Diamond VIP member but this did not matter to the attendants. They did not even offer an apology. The hotel was in disrepair and needs to have some serious work done. The rooms were worn down, specially the bathrooms. Mold and rust was evident in the bathroom. One of the reasons that I like to stay at Hampton Inns is their morning breakfast. There were slim pickings at this Hampton.

This hotel seemed to have been converted from an older hotel that had obviously been built over 30 years ago but it looks like all they did was changed the name of the hotel.
The only thing that was good was the bed. The room did have one of the new beds that Hampton has been putting into their hotels over the last few months. Outside of the bed this hotel was a major disappointment.

Take my advice and find another hotel. I am a seasoned traveler who is on the road every week and I am NOT a complainer. But Hilton should seriously reconsider if they want this hotel in their family. This hotel is terrible!

“Pet-friendly and NICE!”

Brickell Avenue Inn

Jun 2, 2006
9/10 found this review helpful

We have an older dog and found this hotel listed on a "pet-friendly hotels" website. I called the property and confirmed that, yes, they allow any and all pets, with no size restrictions, and with no additional charge! "Pet rooms" are often more worn, heavily deodorized (strong chemical smells), and more costly than other rooms in the same property, so we were very pleasantly surprised by this Hampton Inn. We had a ground-floor non-smoking king room which was very large and contained a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom was very clean, and there were no strong odors anywhere. We had stayed at two other properties (Ramada Inns) in Florida before our arrival in Miami, and this was by far the nicest pet room I've ever seen.

The hotel has a small but nice pool area with several lounge chairs and tables, and the included breakfast contained hot items as well as bagels, muffins, cereals, etc. Coffee (one pot labelled "bold" wasn't really, but it was a nice idea!) and tea are available 24 hrs. in the lobby. Parking is free and on-site, and the hotel is right at the entrance to Key Biscayne, which has a day-use state park which also allows pets on leashes. It is also very convenient to downtown Miami and the American Airlines sports arena.

The personnel were extremely friendly, from the housekeepers and grounds staff to the front desk.

Overall, I would recommend this property to anyone, and rate it among the best pet-friendly establishments in this price range anywhere.

“Great Location!”

Hotel is located in a great location. Easy access to the beach/SeaAquarium, Bay Market Place and Historic area located off of Coral Way. Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. When making the reservation there were no non-smoking rooms available. I was placed on a waiting list and upon arrival my request for a non-smoking room was already fulfilled. Staff was very friendly in suggesting dinner location and provided a map. Staff also made special batches of cookies upon request (with a smile) even though they were extremely busy. Complimentary breakfast provided many options and was very plentiful.
