We stayed at the Loews for a conference and took a couple extra days to enjoy South Beach. We usually do not stay at hotels this large, however, we were pleasantly surprised. The whole staff was extremely nice and the pool attendants were exceptional and remembered our names and came over to check on us even when they were not assigned to us (Adriana & Ishmeal). The Loews is conveniently located within walking distance of good restaurants and shopping. The rooms, although not huge, were extremely clean and comfortable and we felt a good value for the money. We would certainly go back.

“Very posh and expensive”

The service is fantastic. They are there for your every need.
The rooms are lovely! We stayed in a premium room with the balcony overlooking the beach and the city.It was worth the extra money for the view.
The prices are out of this world!!!! $18.50 for 2 Bud lights at the bar.
The mini bar has anything you can think of, for a price.
The location is just OK, we did alot of walking.
The beach was filthy!!! There are trash cans all over the place but people just leave thier trash where ever.
Nice place to stay if you want to treat yourself, or just have money to burn.

“Great Location”

Loews Miami Beach Hotel

Just returned from an evening at the Loews Miami Beach.
There are 2 parts to this hotel. The Main building you enter
and check in is the Loews hotel. The building next door is called
the St. Moritz building. Both buildings were beautifully decorated, Art Deco, of course!
The St. Moritz also houses The Elemis Spa
and Emeril's Restaurant. We were in the St. Moritz, on the sixth floor with what they called a partial ocean view.I guess the only reason it was called that was because the main building extended further east, so we did have a view of that as
well. The room was clean, comfortable and suited our needs as we just wanted a nice place to stay for an evening away. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom small and clean with
Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand soap, qtips and a small bottle of Scope
There was a chair, but no table, coffeemaker (with Emeril's Coffee and Celestail Seasonings Tea) and LG Tv. Fell in love with the bathrobe-wish I could have purchased one! There was complimentary Iced Tea and Lemonade in the lobby. The Lemonade was cold and refreshing.
South Beach is very expensive
We chose not to eat at Preston's for breakfast, although there was a line forming.$15.00 for pancakes
Room Service pricing was very high. For example,Chicken
Noodle Soup priced at $10.00.. plus 20% gratuity, plus $4.50 ServiceCharge, Plus 9% tax.Fiji water in room was $6.75.They sell it in the gift shop for $5.25,as well as Coke products for $2.50. The gift shop was very nice, with clothing, sandals, bathing suits, perfume, jewelry, magazines and sundries
We ate a light breakfast at the "Cafe" in the center of the main building one Bran Muffin, one apple Danish, both delicious, one small Coke and one Coffee (free refills till noon)
for 13.75. That was including an 18% gratuity. It is self service.....

Valet Parking will set you back $33.00 and
you can expect to add 7% State Tax, 3% occupancy tax and 3% County Tax.
Overall, our stay was fine. I was surprised at the 11:00 a.m.check out-Most hotels are noon.
The Loews is on the same street (and Beach) as The Sagamore,DeLano,Ritz Carlton and The Raleigh. The Loews is cheaper of those hotels. I wouldn't rate this hotel as 5 star, but Location is everything

“All the details about Loews South Beach!!!!”

Loews Miami Beach Hotel

Very lengthy but take what you need... I just returned from Loews last month; was there on a mix of conference and pleasure. We wanted to take 4 extra days for some R&R so I did a LOT of research about this place and the other properties in SOBE. Here is the scoop:

Location: A-1...perfect as it is near shopping and restaurants on Lincoln Road, right around corner from Ocean Drive (art deco hot spots only 10min walk), 2 doors down from Delano Hotel (best food ever) and Loews right on beach. 20min drive from airport, cost me $32 cab ride. If you are like me and can’t decide between a ‘boutique’ style and a large conference style stick with Loews and visit the boutique hotels for lunch or dinner. The Delano, Shore Club, National, etc etc all very ‘trendy’ but very $$ for small rooms and no extras. The Loews to me felt like you were on a tropical resort (all inclusive style) whether you wanted to relax in room, on beach, by pool, spa, restaurants, etc.

Quality: Very upscale for a hotel of this size. I have been to many hotels for work and was concerned when I heard 700+ rooms here but it never feels that way. Lobby and common areas luxury feel, comfortable. Rooms don’t seem to match the decor in rest of hotel but they were still very nice , very clean and decent size.

Service: I should have this listed as point #1 ....amazing service-- ...from housekeeping to front desk to valet to those pool attendants. Wonderful (you feel like a VIP when you walk in, everyone saying hello and welcome) At the pool during day free popsicles, chilled towels, evian mists (over the top, but hey kind of nice and fun!) Room service fast and great serving sizes. Meals at pool wonderful. Housekeeping fast, had room done before lunch every day. Nightly turndown they leave you a daily newsletter, free water bottle and little box of candies. Concierges excellent. Summary, I think they must have 5 staff for every 1 guest....

Conference: Rooms were very good -huge, staff helpful, close to outside terraces when you have a break. Our conference was very busy but I found the time went fast. No windows in our room but well ventilated and you didn’t freeze your butt off as in some hotels.

Value: The room was well priced for what you get. However rest of hotel was very $$$ however I get the feeling it is like that everywhere in SOBE. Remember as other people have noted, there is a 20% service charge in everything so don’t tip additional! At spa I almost gave her 40% (they don’t tell you this, not good) Gift shop way overpriced.

Rooms: see photos, everything good working order. Flat screen new TV’s, nice reading chair, desk, robes, ironing board, tub and shower, good size bathrooms. We had a ‘standard’ room and I found it fine. Some terraces on lower levels not that private. Small thing but if you like a decent hairdryer BRING YOUR OWN. The ones in room and spa are the tiny ones on the wall with very low power, almost useless. Lighting poor in bathrooms. My friend also stayed here for the week and had same comments.

Spa/Fitness Areas: Brand new, loved them. Other boutique hotels have a small room with only couple pieces equipment, this one had 10+ bikes /treadmills/ plus weight room plus yoga room. They have a ‘calming room’ in spa very nice. Massage was good, wash/blow dry with Cherie was the best I’ve ever had! ps bring lots of $$ the wash was $70.00. Fitness had everything you will need plus daily classes (early AM) and great views of pool while you workout. ***TIP!!!!!! It will cost you $10 a day to visit the gym unless you sign up for the Loews First Membership on their website (no charge, and this allows you free access to spa/gym anytime you want ..plus a free welcome gift when you arrive -you get to choose which gift you want ..i.e. milk and cookies, or wine, etc) They don’t tell you this so sign up quick to get your membership # and makes a big difference.

Lastly, (no) Green Focus:
or should I say what green focus?? They have nothing in place for environment friendly .... unreal. Example: every day housekeeping with change your bed sheets (every sheet, every towel, everything.... ) The daily newsletters also waste of paper. pool drinks in these big plastic cups that could be easily reused but they bring you a new one each time. No recycle bins anywhere on property. Very disappointing! I am not a earth nut I am trying to do my part and the waste was so obvious.

Recommendations:
Can provide lots of recommendations for restaurants if needed.
enjoy.

“Nice....”

Loews Miami Beach Hotel

I decided to come to this hotel as it was recommended by my trusted travel agent- I wanted somewhere relaxing with luxury. I paid quite alot for this hotel more than i normally do for a nice hotel so expected great standards.

This hotel ticked some boxes for me, some staff where friendly , they cleaned the rooms daily and left a nice touch on pillows, great location near loads of resturant and bars, v.near beach (had to use key to get in and out as public beach- but it had a area for loews hotel customers, with VERY expensive chairs, umbrellas and drinks/foods)

However...... I had a reaction to the bed either the strong detergent or some kinda bugs.... that being said it could have been anything in the room. I'm not even completely annoyed at it happening its the way it was handled. As it was skin rashes after taking advice from the people I was with, I called reception for some natutral yogurt or something else to help calm it down. I was really suffering and they left me without response for ages- I had to call again TWICE before i got some medical attention or at least some yogurt from the kitchen!! When someone finally came (A security guard!!!) i was told they do not provide FREE natural yogurt... I'm suffering and out of the goodness they couldnt go in the kitchen and bring me a small pot of yogurt!!! I told the guy I understand, no problem, I dont care about paying just bring me the yogurt!! He left, I then get a call from reception saying there is a walmart around the corner which would be cheaper..... 1. it was like 10pm I didnt wanna go out. 2. I was having a very bad alergic reation- what part did they not understand!! So incompetent. its a good thing is was an external reaction and my throat wasnt swelling up!!!!!

Also it was so expensive we paid close to $70 for breakfast and nearly $30 for a baileys..... but it was expected.

Apart from these little negative to rest of the hotel was nice... If the price was right i would go back for a quick stay not too long!!!
