Was looking for a suite for a 6 day stay on Disney but didnt see the point in paying 10K$ for a suite at an upscale hotel given that we just needed somewhere to sleep, so instead booked a 1 bed suite at All Star Music.

I thought it was fantastic value. I requested and got a recently refurb'ed suite (actually i think they are all quite new) somewhere not too far from buses. Was given one in the Jazz Inn pointing towards the main walkway/communal area. Jazz Inn is a good choice - not too near the noise from the pools and not too far from the bus/restaurant.
Suite was great- it was clearly 2 older rooms that had been knocked together and refurbed and it had decent quality beds and finishings and loads of storage. Perfect for what we needed though of course not lots of upscale furniture. The housekeeping service was very good and the reception/concierge staff couldnt have been more helpful.

In my entire week I never waited more than 6-7 minutes for a bus to or from any of the resorts. The queues at the restaurant/diner were also quite fast moving (never more than 10 mins).

The diner is not somewhere I could recommend eating at frequently on a night time; cafeteria type self service food that was not especially varied but we ate there once on a night and it was fine. Breakfast, which we took there very morning, was also acceptableif not especially fancy.

The landscaping and pools certainly exceeded my expectation; it was very well kept and the pools were exceptionally clean and always manned by liefguards.

So clearly it is not the 4 seasons, but I would happily stay there again and I thought it was great value for money.

“GREAT!!”

For anyone worried about the previous reviews for this hotel I say "Don't!"

Me and my girlfriend (both 24) flew in from England on a 9 and a half hour flight. We reached the hotel and checked in with a young lady named Michelle who was very, very helpful. She explained everything that we needed to know to enjoy the whole Disney experinence. She seemed a little worried that the pool view we had requested (our travel agent had requested) was not available (you don't really need a pool view) and the room we had only had a king size bed in it. We explained that there was no bother at all as we preferred this anyway. She explaned, where our room was and we had no trouble finding it at all.

Now, I will be honest. If your after a 3 course meal with candles, waiter service and Lobster I would look elsewhere for something to eat. To be fair though, the hotel do offer a range of different 'type' of meal as they can. You can get your good old double cheeseburger and 'fries' the American way, or you can choose from either pizza, sarnies, salad, chicken dinner, etc. etc. You can even make use of the room service option on your in-room phone.

The pools are great. The big pool is for the young ones and if you feel like a little 'kick-back' you can always use the smaller piano pool. They staff there had games on for the children including mini tournaments on the Nintendo Wii, on the GIANT screen, also at 9 O'Clock, Disney Movies were on most nights.

Our room was cleaned EVERY SINGLE DAY we were there, with towles and bedding provided.

For family's or couples travelling over from the UK I promise you, this hotel is sound. You'll be in the Disneyworld parks or out around Orlando most of the time anyway but to be fair the hotel should be rated more than a two star. This hotel was better than a 4 star we stayed in, in Gran Caneria!!

If your after a great 'Hotel holliday' may I suggest the Ritz in New York!!

Seriously though Walt Disney World has a number of parks with great themes though out. The Disney All Star Music Resort had a fantastic theme and great service for what you need.

If you want to stay in a hotel, with Giraffe's walking outside your room or river boats outside to take you to the parks then I suggest you pay that few hundered pounds/dollers more and maybe book another resort at Disneyworld. The All Star resorts are exactlly what they say they are. No butler service but a great Disney experience.

We loved it that much that we're going back in August with my parents!!

If anyone wants to contact us to cover any points we have not mentioned, them please do so.

“Not so great...”

Our 1st 2 days were a nightmare! We were downgraded from the preferred room WE PAID FOR without notice and were only compensated a total amount of $57! We paid over $200 to upgrade to Preferred! Then my son ordered the pizza in the food court and promptly puked it up. It turned out we got food poisoning from the ice cubes on the plane! They smelled and tasted funny - I didn't eat them, but my husband and sons did and they spent the night glued to the bathroom. It didn't help that my 11 year old got sick in the food court and then we had to run him to the room WAY at the other end of the resort. The preferred room we paid for would have been much closer (which is why we requested it! After a day of walking around parks, who wants to walk another 10 minutes to the room?)

I never got a satisfactory answer from the staff as to why we were downgraded. I assumed they gave a block of rooms to the hordes of teenagers we saw horsing around in the pool. I can safely say that we were probably the noisiest people in our particular wing of the hotel with all the flushing that went on for 2 nights, but I still would rather have had my preferred room.

To add insult to injury, the famed "towel animals" that were so proudly displayed in other peoples' windows were missing from our room. I actually called to tell them that my children were disappointed every night when we got to our room to find no animal waiting for us. We were assured there would be "something special" in our room for the remainder of our trip. When we returned on Wed, there were 2 animals on the bed. On Thursday, there was nothing. Again. It was noticed immediately. My children were very disappointed and I was as well.

I am requesting a full refund for the $200 I paid my travel agent to upgrade to preferred. I made these reservations in November, 2007.

Aside from that, we had a good trip. A bit tired, but the buses were great and once we got the hang of the food plan, we liked it a lot. If it weren't for the downgrade without notice, lack of sufficient refund, absense of towel animals and the puking marathon, we would have loved it.

“Perfect for a family!”

We stayed at the All Star Music in a Family Suite in March. It was a fantastic experience for us. Upon arrival, the staff in the lobby made my daughter feel entirely welcome: giving her oodles of stickers, a balloon and a kazoo. It was a fantastic welcome for us.

We have a 4 year old and a 9 month old, who goes to bed early each night. Having the family suite allowed us to put the baby to bed and still be able to have some time with our daughter. Our room location was terrific. We were close to the pool and relatively close to the food area.

The room had two bathrooms with vanity areas and had a very nice kitchenette area. We did all of our meals in the parks or at the hotel.

During our stay, there were several groups of middle and high school cheerleaders. This did not affect us, nor did we hear anything that we would describe as noisy. I can say that the food area was congested and loud, but having small children we felt that we fit right in!

We have stayed at many of the other moderate Disney resorts and while this one was not as upscale in the lobby or restaurant choices, it was a great choice for a reasonably priced hotel option. My husband and I are regular business travelers and have discriminating tastes when we choose lodging.

I'd be happy to provide any information to you or also to give you tips of hitting the parks with small children. Thanks for reading!
