This hotel has probably seen its better days. We needed a hotel in Lexington on our return trip home. Without access to a computer, we relied on our daughter reading TripAdvisor reviews to help us call a hotel we hoped would be at least adequate. Now that we are home, I actually checked the address on our receipt to see if this was the same hotel just reviewed by someone else, and it is. I cannot believe we saw the same place. The room is just average, and the beds have thin mattresses. On our floor, the hallways didn't have their bottom trim or molding and the wallpaper curls up at the carpet's edge. It really gives it a worn-out look. The breakfast is not special. They do have a wafflemaker, with the batter so thick you need to get it out of the cup with a spoon if you want it all. A person I thought was a guest but turned out to be an employee was trying to scrape a thick burnt waffle out of one of the wafflemakers. To top it off, we made a trip down with suitcases, then went in to the breakfast room, planning to make one last trip to the room for the restroom before checking out, and guess what? The door is wide open and the cleaner is dragging sheets off the beds and whatnot with her cart blocking the door. I asked her if we had checked out yet, which would be NO! At the front desk, they said they should be cleaning in the rooms that are on a check-out list first, and that we were definitely not on that list. I'm glad we didn't leave anything of value in the room. We would not have booked this if I could have seen the full Lexington hotel list on a computer.
