I contacted the hotel by mail, and although they acknowleged I was upset, they made no apolgy. Where to start! The headboard had been removed from the bed and the holes were still in the wall where it had been affixed. Luckily we had the headboard because the window didn't close or latch and we used it to block entry. The railing was rotted and the deck was covered with a moldy indoor outdoor carpet.

The baseboard heat covers were missing, the built in the wall kleenex box was just a rusted metal rectangular hole. Not one piece of furniture matched.
Continental breakfast was included, and the two women putting it on the counter wore no gloves or head covering.
The only nice thing about this hotel is that they had a room available when we needed one.
The room rate was $189 per night and I got no satifaction from Choice Hotels either!

We recently travelled down to Portland, ME on a bus trip for early Christmas shopping and had booked 8 rooms with this hotel. .

We had the unpleasant experience of having a cold shower, strong odor of smoke coming from our furnace, mold on the muffins, etc at the continental breakfast, and the most unacceptable thing was the rude person behind the desk when complaints were made. We were told that we were the only ones to complain and that this particular hotel did not need our business and we were not welcome to return - not that there would be any fear of that happening. Overall review, I would never stay at this hotel again.

This was the worst motel I have stayed in. The Health Dept. should look into this place. It is dirty, stinky & run down, I would like to know when an Inspector has been through the building. There is open electrical boxes & no GFI outlets in the Bathroom. This place should be put out of business. You feel like you should sleep with one eye open.

South Portland,Maine: Quality Inn &Suites
My husband, myself , and my mother in law spent the evening of September 8,2007. When I called to reserve the two rooms I spoke with a friendly, informative associate. We found the same service when we checked in. It was extremely warm that day and although the air conditioning was not on when we entered the room, it was turned on as soon as we requested it.
We found the room clean and inviting. We spent a comfortable and very quiet night and left satisfied. It wasn't until we returned home to Massachusetts on September 10th that my mother in law realized she didn't have her camera and necklace that had not only monetary value but much sentimental value as well. I immediately called the Quality Inn and to our surprise and relief, someone had found the items on one of the beds and returned them to the service desk.
It means alot to know you can travel and stay somewhere and not only have a pleasant stay but know that the facility is completely trustworthy. We would recommend the Quality Inn and Suites of South Portland Maine to anyone traveling!
