My husband and I made reservations at quality inn in south portland,it was or anniversary and our one nite away from our 5 kids.When we got there to check in the lady was nice talked a lot but nice we had a little trouble finding the room,we get in the room it's a little cold but it's no big deal,so we sit to eat and watch HBO the tv dont turn on there where 2 tvs in the room one in the stand where it goes the other tv was on the top of the tv stand not pluged in,so we plug the tv in and no cable so we call the front desk and tell her the cable in this room is out so she came up and moved us to a new room this room had two beds and that was fine so we sit a second time to eat and watch tv not even five minutes later she calls up and said she gave us a truckers room and that we have to go back the the first room and just wiggle the wires to the tv to get the cable to work we just wanted what we paid for she became very rude it's so crazy that we had to move even one time when we had reservations we never did stay the nite there and never will ever again...we spend almost a hour in a screaming match with her.....she never even apologized for anything that nite,never did get the nite out on my 2nd anniversary

I contacted the hotel by mail, and although they acknowleged I was upset, they made no apolgy. Where to start! The headboard had been removed from the bed and the holes were still in the wall where it had been affixed. Luckily we had the headboard because the window didn't close or latch and we used it to block entry. The railing was rotted and the deck was covered with a moldy indoor outdoor carpet.

The baseboard heat covers were missing, the built in the wall kleenex box was just a rusted metal rectangular hole. Not one piece of furniture matched.
Continental breakfast was included, and the two women putting it on the counter wore no gloves or head covering.
The only nice thing about this hotel is that they had a room available when we needed one.
The room rate was $189 per night and I got no satifaction from Choice Hotels either!

We recently travelled down to Portland, ME on a bus trip for early Christmas shopping and had booked 8 rooms with this hotel. .

We had the unpleasant experience of having a cold shower, strong odor of smoke coming from our furnace, mold on the muffins, etc at the continental breakfast, and the most unacceptable thing was the rude person behind the desk when complaints were made. We were told that we were the only ones to complain and that this particular hotel did not need our business and we were not welcome to return - not that there would be any fear of that happening. Overall review, I would never stay at this hotel again.

This was the worst motel I have stayed in. The Health Dept. should look into this place. It is dirty, stinky & run down, I would like to know when an Inspector has been through the building. There is open electrical boxes & no GFI outlets in the Bathroom. This place should be put out of business. You feel like you should sleep with one eye open.
