Stayed here for a conference May 2-10, 2008 The conference organizer were very exicited about the hotel initially as it was suppose to be a step up from the usual hotel used for this annual conference. That all changed very quickly when the hotel doubled booked our conference with another one. All the meeting rooms were taken and as a result the venues for our conference were moved to a bulding across the street at the last minute. This caused a deal of confusion for all the conference attendees. In addition to this the hotel lost a large shipment of goods that the conference organizers need the first few days of the conference. The hotel itself had a very strange policy of no saturday check ins, forcing my company to book us in for an extra day before the conference started.
The hotel itself was nice enough, lots of usual ammenties associated with these "vegas" like hotels, there was a work out room which was a little lacking in equipment, pool was closed as was the hot tub, then on top of that they charged an additional $8/visit to use it. There was also a $2.50/day resort fee that was not disclosed at the time of booking. I had no hot water for the first four days of my stay and after I called and complained about the lack of hot water they fixed the problem but you had to run the water for approx. 10 minutes before it got even remotely close to hot (talk about a huge waste of water).
There was a security guard that had to check you for a room key before they allowed you to get on the elevator, which was great but it got a little old after a few days, especially if you had an armful of bags and gear and you had to stop, put everything down to dig out your room key, every time before they would let you pass. I found this amusing, espcially when they had no problems what so ever about allowing less desirable patrons into their "high end" steak house restraunt, wearing blatant "gang" colors and acting like loud obnoxous thugs.
The staff at the front desk that checked us in had the personality of a brick, the ice machine on my floor never worked, had to go to another floor for ice every day, the bed was hard as a rock, I've had better pillows in a Super 8 motel, the parking garage was stupidly inadequate fort a hotel of that size and there appeared to be dried ketchup on the walls of my room.
All in all the hotel was a huge let down, we got a conference rate but if you are planning on paying the full rate, spend your money somewhere else, the "Silver" Legacy is at best a "Bronze"
