My 6 friends and I stayed here for my 21st birthday for 3 days and loved it. The hotel room was very nice and clean and the employees were always friendly. I was pretty lucky on the both the slots and the tables all weekend. It was close to other casinos-Circus Circus and the Elderado were right next door and the food was great. I couldn't have had a better 21st birthday.

We have stayed before and never been disappointed. This time we arrived on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and they were PACKED, they were behind getting rooms cleaned and rushing to get us checked in. However, it went smoothly and we got in to a room pretty much at check in time. The room seemed a little rumpled, compared to normal, but we attributed to the holiday rush, nothing was unclean. We stayed 3 nights and the rest of the trip the room was serviced beautifully.

As others have mentioned - it is a casino, and that's pretty much the point of the trip. We took a Segway tour advertised on their website and LOVED it, I totally recommend it! There are other tours available through their adventure desk if you want to get out of the casino.

This hotel has a great central location, is linked to Circus Circus and the El Dorado, and is easy walking to the other downtown casinos. If you want to visit the Peppermill or Atlantis they are a short $2 bus ride on the #1 bus that runs down Virginia street, very easy to get around without blowing a lot of money on cab fare. It is close (one block over) to the bowling stadium and the Reno Event Center if you are going to town to see a show.

As far as food - it was fine, we generally eat in the 24 hour Sedona Cafe for the variety of choices. We did eat once at the Fresh Express food court on the casino floor and I wouldn't recommend that if you can avoid it, that was the one place the service was not up to par (no tartar sauce for fish & chips? and looking at me like I was nuts for asking for some? And does anyone clean off tables in the middle of the night?) But it was quick and met our needs.

The people at the bell desk were very helpful storing luggage when we first arrived and again on the day we left between check out and time to leave for our flight, and they are also able to print out your Southwest airline boarding passes, which is a huge help. The shuttle from airport is great too, runs every half hour. In general, everyone we came into contact with was very kind and helpful, we had a great time!

“Sterling Stay at the Silver Legacy”

Silver Legacy Resort and Casino

May 25, 2008

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Silver Legacy in early May of 2008. We arrived on a very late flight and made the last shuttle run of the night. Check in was a breeze. When we got to our room, we discovered a light bulb in our bathroom was out. We reported it the next morning and it was immediately replaced. The room was comfortable and was kept very clean throughout our stay.

We found the hotel to be within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. The Legacy is in the center of it all and very convenient since it is connected to two other hotels. Having signing priveleges at one of the neighboring casinos was a nice bonus. We loved the big, open feel of common area under the dome and enjoyed relaxing with a cocktail in the evenings in one of several bars/lounges, each with a unique atmosphere.

After wandering through neighboring hotels/casinos, we are glad we chose the Legacy, as we felt it was the classiest, cleanest hotel in the downtown area. We highly recommend dinner at Sterling's Steak and Seafood, the meal we had there was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable.

“Good Work Trip”

I stayed at this hotel/casino for six nights for a conference. The hotel staff was courteous and efficient. There is also a Hertz rental car at the front desk, which was nice. The rooms were clean and average compared to other hotels (probably a little below average compared to Las Vegas hotel/casinos). The beds was pretty comfortable. The casino was large with plenty of options for gamblers. There was also a comedy club on the property. We went one night and the opening act was much better than the headline but still worth the $12 paid for the ticket. The buffett was pretty good and only tried one other restaurant which was pretty bad (forgot the name of it - it was the one across from the Keno counter). I did walk to some of the other casinos connected to the Sliver Legacy and found the Silver Legacy much cleaner and noticed much less smoke in the Silver Legacy. Overall, the property was pretty nice. The trip would have been much better had I won some money.

“Should be called the Bronze Legacy”

Stayed here for a conference May 2-10, 2008 The conference organizer were very exicited about the hotel initially as it was suppose to be a step up from the usual hotel used for this annual conference. That all changed very quickly when the hotel doubled booked our conference with another one. All the meeting rooms were taken and as a result the venues for our conference were moved to a bulding across the street at the last minute. This caused a deal of confusion for all the conference attendees. In addition to this the hotel lost a large shipment of goods that the conference organizers need the first few days of the conference. The hotel itself had a very strange policy of no saturday check ins, forcing my company to book us in for an extra day before the conference started.

The hotel itself was nice enough, lots of usual ammenties associated with these "vegas" like hotels, there was a work out room which was a little lacking in equipment, pool was closed as was the hot tub, then on top of that they charged an additional $8/visit to use it. There was also a $2.50/day resort fee that was not disclosed at the time of booking. I had no hot water for the first four days of my stay and after I called and complained about the lack of hot water they fixed the problem but you had to run the water for approx. 10 minutes before it got even remotely close to hot (talk about a huge waste of water).

There was a security guard that had to check you for a room key before they allowed you to get on the elevator, which was great but it got a little old after a few days, especially if you had an armful of bags and gear and you had to stop, put everything down to dig out your room key, every time before they would let you pass. I found this amusing, espcially when they had no problems what so ever about allowing less desirable patrons into their "high end" steak house restraunt, wearing blatant "gang" colors and acting like loud obnoxous thugs.

The staff at the front desk that checked us in had the personality of a brick, the ice machine on my floor never worked, had to go to another floor for ice every day, the bed was hard as a rock, I've had better pillows in a Super 8 motel, the parking garage was stupidly inadequate fort a hotel of that size and there appeared to be dried ketchup on the walls of my room.

All in all the hotel was a huge let down, we got a conference rate but if you are planning on paying the full rate, spend your money somewhere else, the "Silver" Legacy is at best a "Bronze"
