I have read the other reviews on this page and am surprised they are so negative. We have stayed at a beachfront hotel in New Jersey which was not half as pleasant as this hotel, and double the price. Our room was enormous, the gentleman at reservations knew we were staying with our two kids and gave us late check out and a larger room without us having to ask. Check in was quick and efficient. The airconditioning worked wonderfully well, unlike an expensive and trendy hotel we stayed at recently in New York. We were checked out in the morning and the beds were comfortable. All requests for aditional pillows, a day bed, milk and coffee were delivered within 5 minutes. We enjoyed a drink in the bar before bedtime and it was very nice. We came here because we had such a negative experience at the seafront hotel and it was so worth it. I hopt others have a better experience, as we have.

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel perhaps a dozen times while visiting family, and the only problems (minor ones at that) we've encountered came from other guests. The Sheraton is the only full-service hotel in the area, and as such serves a lot of groups--beachgoers, business travelers, and many, many catered events. A few times we've been bugged by kids playing on the elevators, or partyers yelling in the halls, but I don't see much that management can do about that. The rooms are small and the property overall is showing its age, but the beds are comfortable and the staff is professional. The HVAC system is a bit noisy, so bring earplugs if you're sensitive. You can also pay a few dollars more to stay on club level out of the fray. Our only real complaint over the years was the price, but that has come down a good bit, perhaps due to competition from the Staybridge next door.

I was shocked that my husband's business actually booked us at this hotel!The bedside table and writing table was scratched all over(looks as if a wild dog was let loose in the room), waterspots on the ceiling, hair in the bathroom and in the bed, dirty patches on the toilet and waterspots on the stainless steel fixtures in the bathroom, worn-through bedskirts and bedlinen, no ironed pillowcases and linen, one page left on the notepad, penscratches all over the information welcome folder, dirty marks on the walls and broken scratched door and dirty towel, dirty bath......on request at the frontdesk to change the linen and see to the room, the person concerned threw the duvetcover and pillows on the dirty carpet whilst changing the beds, we did take pictures and will present it to the company. I flew back the next day and was not willing to stay another day in such a room. (My husband had no choice since the company booked him there.) On inviting the frontdesk staff to the room to inspect the condition, with a not really caring attitude and a reply of 'the manager will contact you tomorrow' and 'we are fully booked', we are still waiting....we were offered 10%discount or a free breakfast, for the life of me!, we declined the offer, this is about a clean room and management handling a really unhappy guest!

My wife and I spent a night at this hotel on July 28th. The room was comfortable, clean and up-to-date. High-speed internet was included and we were upgraded to the Executive Floor. BTW, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
