Absolutely loved the Eco-Hotel. The staff was gracious and friendly. Upon arriving, a sweet young man met my sister and I at the gate and eagerly carried our suitcases up the stairs to our room. The room was beautiful! I especially loved the shower which had a window in it, where I could view the lake while showering! Did I mention the organic cotton sheets, which glide over you like silk? The views from the hotel were absolutely breath taking. Every eveing my sister and I would stroll down the road from the hotel, to the town's center. The walk took about 15 minutes, which gave us a chance to witness the local's at work and play. We never once took a taxi from the hotel to town...the walk is too precious to pass up! At night, walking back to the hotel, we would be met at the gate by a friendly staff member, bidding us "Buena Noches," for another sound and restful sleep at the Hotel. If you are going to Patzcuaro, this Magnificant hotel is just too good to miss. So don't!

Patzcuaro, Mexico

I spent a lovely week at Patzcuaro's Eco-Hotel in February of 2007. It was my first trip to Mexico and I was awed by the spectacular view, the natural setting of the hotel and the attention to local values, crafts and the environment. The room I shared with a traveling companion was very spacious, clean and reflected the culture of Mexico with bright colors, gorgeous tile and wood. The suite had a perfectly adequate kitchenette with windows overlooking the property and the lake below.

The hosts were great! Friendly, knowledgeable and great cooks! All in all, I received wonderful attention during my stay.

The town was special and the people friendly, kind and generous.

A place I would love to visit again.

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in Patzcuaro at the Eco Hotel. It's a unique place -- each room has its own style and all are charming. The hotel sits along a ridge overlooking the Janitzio Island in Lake Patzcuaro -- the sunsets were beautiful. Downtown is an easy ten minute walk down the hill (and if you don't feel like walking back the cab ride is cheap). The staff and owners of the hotel are perfectly accomodating and arranged all sorts of outings and adventures for us through their numerous connections and knowledge of the locale. It was a relaxing, entertaining stay for all of us.

We stayed at Patzcuaro's Eco-Hotel for our honeymoon. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and full of beautiful Mexican decor. The service was prompt and thorough. Additionally, the staff went out of their way to help us plan adventures in the region, so we felt sure of our way and safe. And finally, the location of this establishment provides great views of the lake and easy access to town. We highly recommend staying at the Patzcuaro Eco-Hotel and will probably return some day.
