I loved this B&B. It would suit either gay people or people who just want to avoid noisy family-style establishments.

The rooms and grounds are immaculate and tastefully decorated with nice touches like flat panel tvs and a large DVD library (in case it rains).

The two owners are very friendly and helpful. They also do a fantastic breakfast, which was served on the deck. Best of all, the coffee was perfect.

All in all, I thought this was the best place I've stayed in Byron.

We've just returned from 4 nights at the Amber Gardens, just outside Byron Bay, and we loved every minute. The place is even nicer than it looks on their site and Andy & Stuart went out of their way to make it a wonderful stay for us.

I'd definitely recomment it to anyone who fancies visiting Byron but who wants to get away from the buzz of the town for a while. Amber Gardens is a real oasis of calm and is only about 8KM outside Byron itself.

Amber gardens is an excellent guest house, mainly catering to the mums and dads grandma and grand pa crowd, it has excellent facilities through out ,however i found breakfast on the balcony just a little cold in may /june.
The owners were friendly but not as friendly as you would expect in a b&b or guest house, people tend to stay one night only and book through last minute, which doesn't offer any sort of discount.
The house is about 10 mins by car from the beach and could not be walked easily.
late at night although in the bush, a major freeway pases close by creating some noise late at night.

They have a large pool in a lovely setting, however the pool is not heated, and there is not a spa.
The standard room was very good but the bathroom was small in the room i had reserved, but still very very good
each room has large balconys on one side and there is a seperate flat by the pool.
The house is run by two guys and is heavily promoted to the gay community as a gay guest house, however in the time i was there ,there were no gay people there , nor did it seam any had been before or were on there way. So really a dissapointment for the gay crowd.
the prices are on par if not a liitle more expensive than your usual b&b, i paid $150 Per night with a discount thrown in.
Overall a great place to stay for the over 60's and definitly not one for the gay crowd, gay guys of any age would be bored here,a car is an absolute must due to it's remotness.

Having stayed often in Byron itself, it is such a reliief to have found an exquisite, firendly and exceptionally comfortable place with great hosts.

These two guys have really got something to be proud of, as they have worked hard to create what I consider to be a 5* oasis very close to Byron - believe me it is well worth not being directly in the town. When you see this place I am sure you will agree.

The whole place is immaculately presented and all the rooms have en-suites. The verandas and garden that these guys have worked so hard on make the perfect setting for you to unwind and relax.

They serve a great breakfast on the verandah too, such a great way to start your day.

There is alse a beautiful pool to cool you down while you have a drink and feel so happy that you picked what must be one of Byron's best stays for your dollar.

I am so glad I have found somewhere I will go back to again and again and recommend to my friends & parents. Thanks guys !!!!
