“Quaint and comfortable”

1825 Inn

4 of 5 stars
Atlanta, Georgia
Jun 9, 2008

My boyfriend and I traveled through the Hershey, PA area on a recent cross-country drive and booked a room for the night at the 1825 Inn. This inn is a bit of a drive from the interstate through some rolling hills, farmland, and small town streets. It is located near the Hershey Park attractions, which gave us plenty to explore even though that was not the purpose of our trip.

Innkeeper Will welcomed us warmly. He has created a very comfortable, home-y space in this historic house. We stayed in the Magnolia Room, which has a country style decor that isn't necessarily my cup of tea, but I could see and appreciate the care that was put into the room. It felt like staying as a guest in a friend's home rather than a hotel. Our room did not get a good wireless internet signal, but we were able to check our email and surf the web easily from the dining room and living room downstairs. We also helped ourselves to some of the complimentary hot cocoa and homemade cookies!

Will was able to recommend several attractions and restaurants in the area. Best of all, though, was the home-cooked breakfast served on the screened porch of the house. We shared a table with the other guests and enjoyed fresh baked breads, a quiche-like breakfast pie, and fresh fruit served with juice and coffee or tea.

    • Liked — common areas downstairs felt like home, great breakfast and snacks, friendly and knowledgeable innkeeper
    • Disliked — decor wasn't really my style, our room (one of the least expensive in the inn) was a bit small

My husband and I just completed our second stay at the 1825 Inn, and it was wonderful again! We are already looking forward to another stay. The Inn is clean and well kept. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The Inn keeper, Will, is a friendly and thoughtful host. And, the breakfasts are delicious. I would recommend the 1825 Inn to anyone who enjoys a relaxing stay at a B&B!! You will not be disappointed!

“A B&B for Fun & Relaxation...”

1825 Inn

I have stayed at many B&Bs over the past 15 years in the U.S. and this is one I would definitely visit again when I am once again in the area. It is located just 8-10 minutes from all of the Hershey, PA, attractions and close to many nearby restaurants and was a cozy, quiet and comfortable place to return to at the end of the day.

The host of this B&B, Mr. Will McQueen, was extremely gracious and the breakfasts he prepared each morning were varied, delicious and abundant in content. He has an informal style and is approachable and available for any need or question. The room in which I stayed was beautifully decorated and more than comfortable; within the common areas were offered cold and hot beverages 24/7 as well as homemade treats in the late afternoon.

Mr. McQueen readily provided brochures on local Hershey sites and attractions, also information on the Lancaster area, and was full of useful suggestions. Based on several of his suggestions, I made it a point to visit several craft/antique establishments in the area and to take the trolley ride at The Chocolate World (a site just outside Hershey Amusement Park and free), which trolley ride is something that can be well enjoyed by family and children -- even chocolate treats were part of the entertaining "history" on Mr. Milton Hershey, his chocolate business and his many other accomplishments.

As for non-chain type restaurants, Mr. McQueen suggesed The Hershey Pantry, which I found to be a pleasant, small, relaxing family oriented establishment with delicious American food and wonderful desserts just minutes from this B&B. I think they offer high tea there in the afternoon as well but I personally didn't partake of it. The staff were very pleasant and eager to fulfill a customer's requirements and prompt in their service -- well worth the visit.

Overall, my 4-day trip to Hershey and Lancaster was for the purpose of enjoying a get-away with a stress-free schedule and I was most successful in accomplishing this goal at these enjoyable establishments.

We stayed at the 1825 Inn while visiting Hershey, Pa and really loved this bed and breakfast. It was quiet, cozy, and very well-kept with everything we could possibly need and want provided. We have stayed at a few bed and breakfasts and this by far was the best. Will, the Innkeeper made sure we had everything we needed, we will be sure to visit again when in the area.

“Loved It !!!”

1825 Inn

The 1825 INN is one of the best places my husband and I have ever stayed at. The rooms were not only beautiful but immaculate as well. There was not one speck of dust or dirt anywhere. The breakfast was delicious and the presentation of the food was wonderful. The company at the breakfast table completed a great stay. Will is very dedicated to the comfort of his guests and treats you as if you were his family. We will definitely go back again. If you are ever in the Hershey/Palmyra area, the 1825 Inn B&B is THE place to stay! Why stay in a hotel when you can stay at the Inn and be pampered! Thank you for a wonderful time Will!
