We have stayed at Disney's Hilton Head resort for the last 3 years, always at Christmas time. We love it so much! It's gotten a little bit busier than years previous. I suppose more people are discovering that Hilton Head is still a really nice place to visit in the winter! This year we invited Grandma and got a 2 bedroom. It was so big! We'll probably get a 1 bedroom next year, since it kinda felt like we were wasting space with so much room! Our balcony had a view of the marsh, as do many of the rooms. There was a large picnic table and rocking chair on the patio. We brought a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and the only thing we needed to bring was the roasting pan and baster. They had everything else we needed (should have brought a thermometer too).
The only complaint I would have is that there should have been more activities for the children. Some of the craft activities sold out before we could get in. I later found out there was only space for 12 children. Still, most of our time was spend just enjoying time with our family in our big room, so we had a great time.
Santa came for a reading on Christmas Eve, and there were so many parents and children that he had to actually stop and ask them to be quiet so he could finish talking. They asked each child to write down their name, age, and what was on their wish list. My daughter put down that she loved Little Mermaid and games. On Christmas morning, they delivered a little mermaid pin and board game! What a wonderful surprise!
