Business serviceThis resort was the final stop on a winter road trip my fiance and I took to escape the cold in the northeast. Having stayed at an amazing hotel in Charleston the few nights previous, driving up to Disney's resort was extremely disappointing. The look of the resort is dark and dreary, and best of all...Its not on the ocean!. I admit that I didn't read the details of the resort on their website before I booked, but we were both under the impression that it was going to be at least near the beach, if not on it. When getting our keys, the staff at the front desk showed little Disney enthusiasm, but was informative. We stayed in a studio on the first floor, which provided no view from the balcony, but did offer the louder than usual footsteps and voices of the neighbors upstairs. The walls and floors of the place are built paper thin, which I can only imagine would be terrible with a crying baby next door. Additionally, the towels provided were nonabsorbant and stained. The bed linens were uncomfortable, stained, not warm, full of holes and felt dirty. The pool at the resort was ok, with a pretty good size hot tub to one side. It was interesting to see that the slide closed early though. I don't have any kids, but I can imagine that would be annoying if I did.
There are no restaurants in the resort, (I don't consider their "Tide me over" a real restaurant), very little in the way of activities, bike rentals seemed very pricey ($16 per person, per day)....the list pretty much just keeps going. The only positive aspect of our stay was our time spent in a completely different part of the island, Sea Pines. If you are looking to stay in Hilton Head, I would def. consider staying someplace located within Sea Pines, because that's where pretty much everything on the island is located anyway. Whatever you do, don't waste your time/money/aggrivation on Disney's Hilton Head Resort.

Business serviceWe have stayed at Disney's Hilton Head resort for the last 3 years, always at Christmas time. We love it so much! It's gotten a little bit busier than years previous. I suppose more people are discovering that Hilton Head is still a really nice place to visit in the winter! This year we invited Grandma and got a 2 bedroom. It was so big! We'll probably get a 1 bedroom next year, since it kinda felt like we were wasting space with so much room! Our balcony had a view of the marsh, as do many of the rooms. There was a large picnic table and rocking chair on the patio. We brought a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and the only thing we needed to bring was the roasting pan and baster. They had everything else we needed (should have brought a thermometer too).
The only complaint I would have is that there should have been more activities for the children. Some of the craft activities sold out before we could get in. I later found out there was only space for 12 children. Still, most of our time was spend just enjoying time with our family in our big room, so we had a great time.
Santa came for a reading on Christmas Eve, and there were so many parents and children that he had to actually stop and ask them to be quiet so he could finish talking. They asked each child to write down their name, age, and what was on their wish list. My daughter put down that she loved Little Mermaid and games. On Christmas morning, they delivered a little mermaid pin and board game! What a wonderful surprise!

Business serviceWe thought the overall experience was nice and relaxing, but kind of boring (especially when the weather was cloudy). We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa that was huge and clean, but it was a bit dark. We attempted to eat dinner on the patio one evening and got eaten alive by the bugs. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and everything was well kept. I guess we expected more in terms of activities. There really wasn't much of anything to keep teens interested. The campfire was really hokie. They kept saying that it was off season, but if you don't offer things for people to do, they won't come. I had heard about cooking classes, clam bakes, etc. but they weren't offered the week we were there. One day we made plans to go to the beach pool only to find out it was closed. They didn't even have anything going on for Halloween. My son did enjoy catching crabs at the fishing pier. If we were to go back to Hilton Head, we would stay at a resort that either was right on the beach or had onsite tennis and golf.

Business servicePlanned this trip with a girlfriend for some R&R. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by staff at reception. Much to our surprise we had been upgraded to a two bedroom villa! Very nice touch.
The villas are spacious, roomy and comfortable. We had a full kitchen, two roomy bedrooms, two baths & a Jacuzzi tub. My only complaint is that the sofa is a little hard (obviously kid proof upholstery).
Be sure to get a bike while you're there because there are bike paths all over Shelter Cove and Hilton Head. We rode from the resort to their Beach Club. It was a nice 1.5 mile ride that’s not too taxing. We road to the shops nearby and even to dinner that evening!
The Beach Club has a nice size pool, a place for a snack and locker rooms to store your gear while you head to the beach.
Each staff member we encountered was pleasant and remembered our faces each time we saw them again.
Truly, my only regret was not catching a glimpse of Shadow, their elusive, four legged mascot!
