“The staff are its best feature”

Marriott Park City

The negatives......concierge level club room is a major disappointment.
breakfast is terrible,is way too small .
rooms can overlook indoor pool and atrium which makes them noisy and not very nice as you only look at other rooms.
the main bar is average as is the main restaurant
location requires car to access ski fields or shopping at Redstone or dining out although there are some restaurants close by.

the positives.....the STAFF

if it wasn't for the wonderful young people who work at this Hotel the stay would have been terrible.

Notably Devan in the Concierge Club and Louda......there were others but if you stay at the hotel you will understand what i mean.

and make sure you eat at "Hapa Grill" at Redstone.....a real hidden gem!!!

Sports Authority nearby also sell discounted lift tickets as do Smiths at Redstone.

Would i stay again......NO

“Comfortable and clean”

Marriott Park City

The Park City Marriott is your typical Marriott, both comfortable and clean. We had a King Room on the 4th (Conciierge) floor with an interior view over the pool. I suppose because it was an interior room, we experienced none of the noise other travellers have experienced, not even much noise from the pool which was directly below our window.

The room has modern furnishings and the bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Housekeeping was excellent. They even folded my husband's dirty clothes he left laying on the floor!

I don't know if I'd recommend the concierge floor. Unlike other hotels, the wine or beer come at a cost ($8 for wine) and although the snacks are very good, it's hard to justify them when headed out for one of Park City's fine dining establishments. Rather than hurry up for the 9:00 deadline for breakfast, we found a nice little restaurant, Good Karma, within walking distance where we could enjoy a great cup of coffee and a wonderful breakfast. I don't think I would pay extra to stay on the concierge floor again.

Our weekend was in the between seasons slots (great rates!) so we weren't concerned with skiing or hiking access. Downtown is close and if you don't want to drive, there are great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We especially like Blind Dog and Good Karma, but there are many more to choose from.

Overall, I recommend the Marriott as I would any other Marriott.

“Loved our stay at the Marriott Park City”

Marriott Park City

5 of 5 stars
Richmond, Virginia
Apr 2, 2008

My family stayed 6 nights at the Park City Marriott March 23 - 28, 2008, for Spring Break skiing. Since my husband and daughter ski and I don't we chose to stay on the fourth floor so that we had only to walk down the hall in the morning for breakfast and during the day for snacks, treats, etc. in a special room for 4th floor residents only. There is a terrific restaurant downstairs at which I ate lunch every day and most evenings dinner. The food was always good and the waiters and waitress that I had experience with were all so very sweet. Not just polite or courteous, but genuinely sweet. I could go downstairs to eat lunch or dinner any time a day which was wonderful to me. It seemed that most people got either room service or ate elsewhere for the restaurant was never crowded while we were there, let alone having to wait for a table unlike outside restaurants. There was much evidence of room service so it wasn't because of the food, like I said the food was delicious and it was not overpriced. How about a pot roast lunch for only 10 dollars. The rest of my lunches were only 8 dollars.... ski shop and gift shop were helpful. Had no trouble with housekeeping but then we tip them everyday as everybody should. The hotel is very close to several ski resorts , all wonderful although my family chose Deer Valley for its amenities and ease. I expected noise at night but there was none even though the hotel was full and there were many children. I had a great time walking around town after lunch and everybody I met was very nice. Park City is pretty close to SLC so we went to hear the MT choir rehearse on Th. night. The drive is beautiful, going between fantastic magical mountains. The beds were absolute heaven, so comfy. The only thing I didn't like were the Bath and Body shampoo and cream rinse. They smell awful to me! Easy to go out and buy your own. I suggest visiting the awsome nearby San Francisco furniture store and also the heavenly Windy Ridge Bakery. And don't forget the Soup cafe (forget the name of it) a couple doors down from the furniture store. The ladies there are nice and the soup delish. The staff of the hotel was very helpful in everything we needed. It was quiet and comfy, more than I expected for a ski town. One thing that delighted me was the absence of mildew smell. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Nice Hotel But.....”

Marriott Park City

My wife and I just got back from a spring break trip to Park City.
On the Possitive

The hotel itself is fine It is located about 2 mi away from Main St. where much of the towns clubs, dining and shopping are loacated. This is a plus because it is away from noise . The rooms have been remodeled with thier Heavenly Beds and flat screen T.V.'s. The staff was very freindly and willing to accomidate any way that they could. If you stay on the Concierge floor they have free hot breakfast and evening drinks, snaks and desserts.

On the Negative
The walls are very thin and we were able to hear kids running up and down the halls till late in the evening. We were there using Marriott Reward Points so the stay was free. If I were to pay the $200 + for a room that they where advertizing I would probobly go elswhere.
All in all it is a fine place to stay but because of the thin walls not a good spring break location

“Good Experience”

Marriott Park City

Feb 29, 2008

Took a short three-day trip to Park City. We stayed at the Marriott Park City and had a very good experience. It was easy to get around and there are restaurants nearby. The pool, hot tub, and steam room were nice and used them each day. We had a room on the first floor that was partially under ground and faced a wall of snow. So my only suggestion, if you want any view, would be to request a room on a different floor. All in all, the rooms, service, and facilities were nice.
