“1950's Motel with some Modern Features”

Best Western Travel Inn

May 7, 2008

We were here for two nights in the middle of April 2008 to visit Zion National Park. The motel is located one mile west of I15 in the older part of St. George. Although on a busy street it is fairly quiet due to the courtyard design.

The description at the top of the Trip Advisor description is a bit deceptive, it is mainly one story with a group of rooms located on a lower level below the south wing of the motel.

It was built in the 50's. The rooms have a small refrigerator and a microwave located in a cabinet which also houses the plasma TV and a set of draws. The bathrooms are small but have been upgraded. The through-the-wall heat-A/C units worked well, we used both modes when we were there. Parking in the courtyard is a little tight but OK and right at your door. People were using the pool but it was 33 degrees outside in the mornings.

There was a free breakfast buffet with limited items located in the small front lobby/office along with a computer with free internet access. The employees are very friendly and seem to be knowledgeable about the area.

The hotel is less than one hour from Zion depending on the traffic and probably 2 hours from Bryce. St. George has undergone explosive population growth and the area has extensive shopping and dining choices. The motel is about 3 miles from the areas major shopping mall, a Super Walmart, and Vons.

“Great hotel”

This is a really great hotel. The rooms are very spacious and they have really nice flat screen tvs in each room. You can park right in front of your room, so you don't have to lug luggage through lobbies and elevators. The surrounding area is beautiful. You can actually go hiking on the red rocks nearby. Breakfast is good, they just need more than one waffle maker, as others have stated. I highly recommend staying here.

“Exellent for the price”

After visiting nearby Zion National Park, I found this to be a convenient stopover. For the price I paid, this really was a great deal. Amenities include a huge TV, well maintained pool, hot tub, waffle maker, front door parking, and proximity to local businesses . The staff were very much amiable.

A good value option for St George. Hotel receptionist was very polite and helpful. The room was clean and had a giant TV. Nice breakfast but just need two waffle makers to cope.

“Comfortable; Great location in a lovely town”

This is one of several Best Western hotels in St. George and we liked it fine. Our modestly sized room in the rear of the property was tastefully decorated, clean, and had a 36″ plasma television. Our room also had a nice book detailing things to do in the area, including restaurants.

The parking lot looked small, but we had no trouble finding a spot. Our room was quiet and wireless internet was included, although the signal was pretty weak since we were a ways off from the lobby.

This hotel is located within walking distance of plenty of restaurants (although on a busy street), we took the check-in girl's recommendation for a tasty restaurant nearby, the Panama Grill.

The 'hot' breakfast was just okay, they had a waffle machine available, along with some cereal, fruit, muffins, and pastries. Hot coffee and so-so orange juice were also provided.

Overall, good value for the location.
