This "hotel" is really a collection of trulli in various areas of Alberobello. You check-in at the office, an easy walk from the train station. We were met by Francesco, an extremely helpful, friendly guy with perfect English. He went above and beyond the call of duty by dealing with the car rental agency when the anti-theft device on our car locked up and we had to have it towed. This was the only place in Italy that we had a car because the books make it seem like a necessity to see the trulli area. All the little towns are accessible by train, and the trulli in the countryside can be seen as well from the train. Francesco provided a train schedule.
We were in a small neighborhood. We watched the guy across the street tend his garden and work on his stone wall. Our "room" was actually three trullo hooked together by arches with a bedroom, living room, full kitchen and nice large bathroom. The floors were marble and the walls stuccoed with stone arched cubby-holes. We only paid 80 euros for a double, so we must have been upgraded because it was off-season.
Alberobello is an unique, amazing place. There are thousands of trulli and thousands more in the countryside. Staying in our cozy little trulli home just completed the whole experience.
