“Cracking Cesare”

The Cesare is a cracking hotel and i would recommend it to anyone.

Cant quite understand why there are bad reviews on here, but to take issue with a couple of them: for the person who caught scabies maybe you should of used the hand dryer in the toilets which worked brilliantly for me - and as for you who saw the pigeons in the corridors are you sure you dont mean the street, the only bird we saw was a friendly sparrow around the pool.

Restaurant - excellent if you like basic, simple italian pasta. plenty of choice to go with your pasta (local veg and salad, sauces) although if you are looking for chips you'll probably be most upset.

Bar - not the best stocked, but plenty of well-priced choices in beer, coffee and warm sandwiches.

Staff - all very friendly, but we most agree in terms of the maitre 'd who seems to focused on the job to crack a smile, but always greets the guests with a word or 2.

Rooms - very clean and daily linen service means there are no soiled towels (so no scabies worries there). the in room safe is very good and more than worth the 1.50 euros per day.

“Fantastic as always!”

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Cesare Augustus and, quite frankly, had a fantastic experience. The hotel has undergone a refurbishment since being purchased by the Menazza Group and looks the best hotel along the beach front by far.
The room was good, the food was good, the pool was good, the location was good....basically....it was ALL good!! We have no reason to fault the place at all. The staff were all very helpful and friendly (even the restaurant manager gave a few smiles after a while). You could potentially get paired with strangers at dinner but that is all part of the fun of the holiday. We were sat with a lovely couple from Wales. (Hi to the guys if you read this).
Lido di Jesolo is a lovely resort (our 7th time going) and offers something for everyone, young and older!! You feel safe as you walk around...even into the early hours!
The weather was great over the whole 2 weeks (2 storms both came at night so no beach time wasted).
Venice is unique...not much else you can say other than that. Get from it what you want! Go yourself on the local bus and ferry from Punta Sabbionni. Cheaper and easy to do...buy your tickets from the Tabacchi. You dont need to spend a fortune on a Reps trip.
Overall...we would happily recommend this holiday and hotel to anyone. Give it a whirl.

“Excellent holiday in every way!”

I have just got back from a fantastic holiday at the Cesare Augustus, any complaints made on here about the hotel are wrong because we or anyone else we met during our stay at the hotel never had a problem with anything........
Breakfast is excellent (a wide variety of choice to suit everyone), Dinner is even better - good quality and especially the choice, the bar also serve a daytime menu of toasted sandwiches that are very tasty! Staff are also very friendly.
The hotel has entertainment on throughout the week, which is alot of fun, they have a live singer on and everybody gets up to dance, the bar staff are also happy to help.
Reception staff and Thomson holiday reps are also excellent and alot of help with alot of local information. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as we were very very satisfied with our stay.

“Good holiday at the Cesare Augustus.”

Hotel Cesare Augustus

We have just returned from Lido di Jesolo and had a great holiday at the Cesare Augustus. We booked the hotel through Thomsons and the flights through Easyjet. However just thought I would say the following:

Restaurant - The food was quite good, but the starters, salads and vegetables were the same every night. There is a choice of hot meats and fish. The desserts consisted of a couple of different cakes, ice cream, fresh fruit and lots of tinned pears. The breakfast was pretty average for a 4 star hotel. And the maitre d' has definitely had a charm by-pass!!

Rooms - We paid extra for front sea view and although not very large were clean and comfortable. However, although our sons had a bath in their room, we had only a shower. If you want to use your own hairdryer - don't - because you will blow the electricity. The only power point is in the bathroom.

Swimming pool - This a very pleasant sun-bathing area. You do have to pay 2.50 euro for a sunbed and towel round the pool. You can use the hotel's very comfy deckchairs on the beach free of charge (including umbrella) If you want to use a sunbed on the beach they charge 5 euro.

Also, beware of mosquito and other insects!!! Bring a good spray with you. I was bitten on the legs, and huge blisters have formed. I am now on antibiotics and the blisters are very unsightly.

“Scabies warning”

Just rturned from a weeks stay at this hotel with unwelcome travelling companions. Firstly I have to say that the hotel is well maintained and the rooms were cleaned everyday. We didn't like the idea of sharing a table for the evening meal so ate out every night, breakfast was fine with plenty of choice. The resort is very touristy but we didn't mind that because it gave us plenty of alternatives with regards to bars and restaurants. The excursion to lake Garda with a cruise included was great, we had a decent lunch at a sunny lakeside bar ,although it was a fair distance on the coach it was well worth it. The holiday was very relaxing with great weather although we'd never seen so many hawkers before. I just shook my head at them and most just moved on to the next mug.
On the last day while waiting in the lobby for the coach to arrive i made the mistake of using the hotels toilets. Although they were clean there was only a soiled towel to wipe my hands in and I foolishly did just that. Big mistake! Now at home a week later i'm covered in scabies which my local GP has given us lotion to clear up. So beware if you do stay at this hotel you'd be better off avoiding their toilets.
