Although the front clerk was quite pleasant, the room left much to be desired. The description on the website was totally wrong. First it said the facility has been recently renovated. Unless Mold in the bathroom and disgustingly dirt caulking are a new decorating idea, This room had not been touched in at least 20 years. The toilet did not look like it had a proper cleaning in about a month, there was mold on the caulking and on the ceiling in the shower area and the decor was very unpleasant. The room itself looked tidy upon entry but there was a crack in the corner of the ceiling where it looked like access to an attic. The features inluded a few items that I did not find in my room eg: coffe maker, alarm clock (essential for waking up for my morning meeting) and a hairdryer( I like to travel light when possibel and left mine at home). I plan on writing to the head office of this chain and recommend they visit the location to see if it is up to the standards they wish to set. I will be wiser next time and choose a Hotel that has a reputation in our province. I will definitely stay away from this one.

From the moment I began to attempt to "reserve" the room at the Knights Inn in Bridgeport, the front desk clerk told that they had 6 rooms but could not take a reservervation so that they did not have to turn away WVU fans. I explained that I would be paying with my Visa over the phone. This evolved into finally obtaining a room.

When we finally arrived the carpets were filthy, stained and there were cob webs haning from the cielings of our room. There were stain marks all over the ceilings of the powder/waiting room area adjacent to the bathrooms. THIS WAS THE SAME IN MULTIPLE OTHER ROOMS AS WE WERE WITH A GROUP. Unfortunately, since, as mentioned above, there were numerous events in the area, THERE WERE NO OTHER HOTELS TO SWITCH TO.

This visit ended in an excess mischarge upon checking out in which the clerk attempted to blame it on me by saying I should have explained to the "new girl" that I was with the group (which we did several times and even had adjacent rooms). The clerk further referred to me as "this woman" as she called another office for help on issuing a credit. I then asked for her to explain the receipt and where the credit was issued and she told me to "read it, it's all right in front of you".
After several more related comments, I asked ANOTHER cleaning personnel for the regional manager's phone number. The original clerk then involved herself by shouting from behind the counter for me to "call the 1-800 number and tell them whatever you want". I told her to be quiet was we were not going to do this. After this escalation, she called 911 and explained to the 3 officers that arrived that SHE had been assaulted. I, and several other members of my group, who are all professionals in the medical field and counselors with MBA's were asked to leave the property????

In short, even if I had been wrong on the mischarge, I think that at some point the customer is supposed to be right or at least treated with some courtesy rather than verbal abuse.
