“Amazing!”

Hotel America

My husband and I returned from Mallorca Tuesday and had an amazing time! Hotel America was right on the beach, had an awesome view, and provided an all-inclusive buffet for all 3 meals. I thought the buffet was excellent. There was a wide range of food choices and the employees always made sure that there was plenty. The hotel was within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and bars. The actual room was not anything magnificent, but the good things about the hotel outweighed the bad. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“not as bad as some say”

Hotel America

Oct 2, 2008

we have just returned from a weeks stay at hotel America, the transfer to the hotel took 1hr 30 mins, this was disappointing as we were told when we booked it was only a 20 min transfer.

the hotel its self is very clean, rooms are cleaned daily clean towels, when needed, bedding changed twice a week .

the food in the hotel is good we thought with a variety of dishes on each night,a choice of two meats, fish, salads, chips ,roast pots ,new pots, not a great variety of vegetables, but in all some thing for everyone, you also get white or red wine with your lunch and supper.(a little bit like vinegar)

the beach is only 2 mins away and all rooms have a sea view, the beach is lovely.

there are shops restaurants and bars only 2 mins away,Irish bar karaoke bar, gets busy at night time.

the entertainment in the hotel wasn't to bad parrott show ,magic show dancers another night, they also have bingo,
the all inclusive ends at midnight, and if you still want to drink there's another bar you can go into but you have to pay, this bar opens at 12am shuts at 2.30 am,

we did find this hotel very relaxing, staff friendly, and met some great people.
if this hotel had a shorter transfer i would definitely return, but for me the transfer was far to long

“Great Holiday!!!!!”

Hotel America

I can't praise Hotel America enough. We arrived to find a clean spacious room with fantastic views. The food was great and there was plenty of choice, especially for children, we have a one year old who ate more then he ever has! The pool got busy at times and you do have to put a towel down to get a sunbed with shade (if you can't beat them, join them) The beach was just a 2 minute walk away. The sea is shallow and great for young children.
The entertainment was mixed, some shows were great, others not so good, but still funny and with the all inclusive drink flowing you don't tend to notice.

All in all a great holiday for the price we paid, we would not hesitate to go back.

P.S If you need a haircut whilst away go to the lady who owns the hairdressers up the road (her fliers are on reception) she did a fantastic cut and colour on mine for less then half the price it would have cost back home - highly recomended!

“Good Hotel - when you get in!”

Hotel America

2 of 5 stars
Hampshire
Sep 30, 2008

We had read previous reviews about not getting into the hotel but thought going in September there would not be a problem. We got to the hotel about 6pm and were told that bcause of 'technical' problems with the room we would be sent to Hotel Samosa for one night. Thankfully it was just one night, but during our holiday we saw other visitors being turned away for three nights with the same 'technical problem' story - what they mean is they over book. Unfortunately this has put me off going back to what was otherwise a great hotel.

The hotel was very clean everywhere, the food was very good and we considered there was something there for everyone's personal taste. It was a shame that the 'Cafe Bar' was a smoking area, so we had no choice but to sit outside even when the weather was a bit 'iffy' as it as for a couple of days. As mentioned in another reiview, the pizzas in the Pizza Bar were a bit raw. We saw them cooked for about 10 mins in an oven, but that would be the only complaint about food.

Our room (737) overlooked the entertainment area and the beach/cove which was great, we could sit on the balcony late evening and laugh at the kareoke, and see other entertainment.

Thre beach/cove was wonderful. We did the pool in the morning and beach after lunch. Sandy beach and warm, very clear water

We took the bus to Porto Cristo (2 Euros each ) and visited the Caves of Drach (10 Euros) - well worth a visit. Took the catamaran back (12 Euros each), steady legs needed for getting off the cat and up the steps.

I would go back to Mallorca but not the same resort or hotel - a resort built for the tourist industry.

“Never Again!”

Hotel America

Sep 28, 2008

Me and my girlfriend have only just come back from staying a week at Hotel America through Thomas cook. Like one of the previous reveiws, we arrived at 5am in the morning on the 21st and we were told that the hotel was fully booked until the next day. A group of us was sent to Hotel Somoa, which was just a minute up the road. The rooms at this hotel were disgusting, our room was infested with ants. The next morning we couldn't check in at Hotel America until 1pm. So we spent half the day hanging around until we got our room. This was not a brilliant start to our holiday!

We where settled when we finally got our room. The rooms are lovely, and they are cleaned everyday with fresh towells. The food was ok, it gets a bit too much near the end of the holiday. Although you could not fault the breakfast! The swimming pools are nice and so is the sun lounging areas. The other disapointment to the holiday was the weather, but you can't control the weather unfortunately. The entertainment was also a bit poor too, the Bingo was the only exciting entertainment.
The reception staff are not that helpful, and the holiday rep just didn't seem bothered with anything at all.

We certainly wouldn't reccomend this hotel to anyone. If you do decide to go, make sure you have definitley got your room ready for you!!
