Stayed here, with my wife, for a long weekend at the end of April. Just a little further along the "Promenade" than I would have ideally liked but no huge problem. An extremely impressive lobby which, on closer inspection, is a little '70s - as is most of the hotel. We enjoyed a "superior" harbour/cathedral view room which was marvelous. To the rear of the hotel is an extremely seedy area and is best avoided. The room was very spacious and, whilst not exactly tatty, was rather tired. A tip for first time visitors regarding the rather unique lifts! You select your floor as you call the lift before entering because, once inside, you have no control. Once you know the system they are extremely fast and efficient. And now, to that breakfast. I have stayed in many 4 & 5 star hotels throughout the world and I can say, without doubt, that this hotel offers the finest breakfasts I have ever come accross. A massive choice of hot, cold, sweet and savoury items all beautifully presented by fastidious staff.
An average four star hotel with breathtaking views from the front facing rooms.
