“Excellent value for money”

Just returned from 6 night stay at Tryp Bosque and believe it to be excellent value for money.Via www.travelzoo.com,we bagged a clean, well appointed double room for 50 euros, per night as part of a Sol Melia promotion(hotel chain owned by Sol Melia)
Hotel is favoured by ebullient,beer-friendly Air Berlin flight crews,so always a lively but comfortable atmosphere in the hotel.
Tried room service ,on one occasion = good value, well presented.
Prior to arrival,I requested a high level room ,with view to the Cathedral, and that is exactly what I got.Staff very friendly and helpful with useful recommendations and excellent info. re- trips/buses/taxis etc.
Pool area is dated but all other amenities seemed to be very good.
Would recommend the breakfast = very fresh, good selection of hot and cold dishes.
Didn't fancy the look of the restaurants in immediated vicinity but the Old Town has some of the best food available - for tapas,go no further than Taberna de la Boveda,on the sea front,a block prior to the Cathedral.Excellent tapas, also,at No.13,a superb bistro in Carrer Feliu, behind the cathedral.
Abaco,an up-market cocktail bar,in Carrer St.Joan, back of Placa Llotja,is an experience,as is the Hindu Indian restaurant, found on the same block as hotel Costa Azul,on sea front.
There is a set gastronomic menu, changed daily, which includes wine, and amounts to about 15 fabulous courses, all managed by very informative and attentive manager = euro33 per head but well worth it
As for the city,Palma is very cosmopolitan and this is reflected in the variety of eating/drinking/entertainements on offer with prices not far off uk.
The train/tram trip to Soller/Puerto Soller is great but best free trip is the fabulous walk around the bay of Palma-offset by numerous refreshment stops.
All in all, would recommend hotel as cheap, clean, well located base but,as it is uphill walk back from town, not for less able

“Great Hotel”

Tryp Bosque

Jul 6, 2008

Stayed at this hotel end of June beginning of July, staff warm and friendly, clean rooms, staff most helpful and close enough to the front once you have found your way.
While we were there Air Berlin used it daily for their air crews.
It is situated in a quite street with little passing trafic, there are some eating establishments close at hand but about 5minute walk brings you to some good eating establishments.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone it is about a five to six minute walk to the front and about 20 minutes walk to the Catherdrel area. The swimming pool was good and a lifeguard on most of the time.
Sun beds need a clean and refurbishment but apart from that everything was great.

“Tryp Bosque - good value for money”

Tryp Bosque

Just returned from a 5 day break staying at the Tryp Bosque - hotel was a 15 - 20 minute walk from the city centre wth a taxi rank 200m from the hotel and a bus stop a short walk away. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and our package included breakfast which was a decent buffet style - the only down side at the moment is the sun deck which is in need of a face lift... Would say it's a good value for money hotel you want a day at the beach you won't go far wrong packing a bag and catching the no 3 to Illetes - a lovely beachy cove 25 mins away. Word of caution - the bus stop is on a one way road so the bus back doesn't stop at the same place...

This is a very good hotel for the cost. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and very clean. However, the star of the whole show is the great breakfast that is supplied, there is a choice for everyone from full english breakfast to continental. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who asked.

We booked this hotel as a part of our two weeks Spain holiday.
We spend here four nights.
This is good standard hotel with friendly and efficient service by hotel staff. Reception, lounge area and hallways were ok and clean. Reception and bar staff were always ready to help and they served nicely. Room was clean, a little bigger than standard one and bathroom (tube and shower) was always kept clean, amenities filled daily, balcony cleaned everytime. So nothing to complain. Breakfast was good with choice of cold and hot dishes. Salads, fresh fruits, choice of different breads, cheeses, deserts and so on. Coffee, tea served on table. Location: it takes 20min walk to the Cathedral, 10min to main boulevard on harbour and 5min walk to big local supermarket. To find it, walk left side on main street from hotel front to Palma direction.
Our stay in this hotel was better than expected mainly because we got room from upper floor with view to Palma Bay. In this higher hotel building entire hallway had windows facing to Belvedere Castle and upper floors rooms had view to Palma.

Pros:
+ Good room for a three star hotel with kingsize bed. Though bed was a little hard that I´m used to but I had a good sleep.
+ Clean room with wardrope and basic amenities (shoe polish brush and so on).
+ Airconditioning (not ceiling fan), minibar, safe and Sat-TV.
+ Good view from upper floors straight to hotel surrounding area and Palma Bay.
+ Curtains blocks light almost completely if you prefer so when sleeping.
+ We didn´t have any disturbing noises to our room during stay.

Balcony was ok and had two plastic chair and table set.

Cons:
- Most of the rooms on 1st to 4th floor facing pool side have view straight to other rooms and they also have limited sunlight during daytime.
- Rooms to the street may have disturbing noise from traffic and bars during day and night.
- Area itself do have many small bars and restaurants but there are hard to find decent food with good quality if you don´t want to eat pizzas and chinese "buffee libre". Go to Palma instead to have better dinner.
- Breakfast room noisy when crowded.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Clean hotel. Location: there are bars near this hotel for every taste.
    • Disliked — Location: have better dinner in Palma town.
