We travelled to the Marina Corfu mindfull of some of the negative comments on this web site and when we arrived, quickly realised that some sad people must go on holidays and spend their time
trying to find faults to winge about!
Remember - 'YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!'
This hotel was superb value.
Fantastic location with its sister hotel either side of beautiful terqouise blue inlet with small but adequate soft sandy beach, which despite its size always had sunbeds to spare and never looked too crowded due to the availability of the adjacent pool terrace areas.
The inlet/bay was lined with rocks that increased in height towards the sea. Steps and small platforms had been made to enable the more adventurous swimmers to access and exit the crystal clear water by jumping or diving from varying heights up to 30ft !! Great fun!!
The Hotel was spotlessly clean, with the most happy, proffessional and helpfull staff we have ever experienced, including the girls that cleared the tables and even the cleaners.
Good selection of food at each sitting with tables always available due to the amazingly efficient restaurant staff. Short cues if any, for drinks at the several bars and they dont restrict you to two drinks each.(Massive measures of Baileys!)
Lots of activities every day for adults and kids if you like that sort of thing. We had a party of four adults; two fifteen year old boys, one thirteen year old boy and a 6 year old boy and they normally had something to do if the adults just wanted to chill. (Or roast as was the case in the boiling hot sun!)
The local resort of Cala D'Or was only five minutes drive away and had several similar style, but bigger, beaches and enough restaurants and bars to last you a lifetime.
The Marina - even nearer, is a must with its "dream about" boats and nice restaurants/bars.
If you only wanted a short strole, the bars and restaurants in Cala Egos were ample for a late drink and a game of pool for the lads. Sparkles is the local late music bar (Cant really call it a Club) only 3 mins walk from Hotel. Friendly and as with the rest of the resort - no yobs!
All in all (excluding the dreadfull Easyjet experience of cancelled outgoing flight!!! -no fault of Hotel), we had a fantastic holiday. Our only reservation would be that the evening entertainment for adults was poor. At 11.30pm the 'in house show' (only had one proper proffessional act all ten days we were there) finished and immediately the ever efficient staff, started stacking the unoccupied chairs and tables all around the guests. And at 12.00 midnight all the external lights were just switched off regardless of how many people were still finishing their drinks!
I suppose that at All Inclusive hotels it is not very profitable for the bars to stay open late indefinately.
But this would not put us off going back again as the positives far outway the negs.
Very highly recommended indeed.
