“Excellent Hotel!”

Viva Sunrise

We have just returned from a week's stay at Viva Sunrise with my two children aged 3 and 18 months. I had read all the comments about this hotel on various websites and due to the high ratings decided to book. We were not dissapointed and found Viva a fabulous hotel ideal for our younger children who loved the BUFO mini disco everynight. After the disco was the adult show which was different every night and always entertaining. The rooms were clean but basic but found we had everything we required for a weeks self catering.
The pool's were excellent and the mini park area and bouncy castle were great to keep the children entertained during dull days. Entertainers were good sports and always tried to include the adults in their fun and games! Hotel was in an excellent location even for my parents who have trouble walking long distance found the trip to the beach was just under 10mins.
The Peach Pit next door to the hotel was a nice place to dine with a British Chef and was always very reasonable. Please note we did go for an Indian Meal in the town but were very dissapointed at the taste and the cost!
Overall we had a wonderful holiday and without a doubt will be visiting this hotel sometime in the near future.

“Fantastic family hotel”

Viva Sunrise

Stayed at Viva Sunrise 3rd to 10th June 2008 and already looking to go back next year. Checked in very quickly and was pleased when we were given our request of a low level room and had free wine and fruit in our room and a free drink at the bar. We had a studio apartment which was spotlessly clean and plenty big enough for the two of us and our toddler in a cot. The kitchen is very basic with 2 electric rings and a fridge only, no kettle, toaster of microwave but we managed fine and you can always hire these from reception, along with high chairs and prams which was great. Hotel facilities were fantastic, loads of things there for kids to do, a playgound with swings, slider, playhouse and even a bouncy castle. They have their own pool and another pool just for toddlers which has slides and water features which was great. We went self catering so only ate in the hotel once but the food was fine, quite a nice selection. Adult and kids entertainment throughout the day and night was good and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
The hotel is perfectly situated in the resort centre, 5 mins walk to the beach and the bars and restaurants although far enough away not to be noisy. We can highly recommend Roma restautant which does lovely itialian food and Luna grill does a bit of everything with huge portions and also has a playground at the back. We also ate at the port end a few nights and the resaurants and bars are fantastic, some are right on the beach so the kids can play while you eat of just relax with a drink. Dakoto tex mex is really good.

just back from 9 days in viva sunrise and i could not fault the place, the facilites are excellent. we travelled with our 2 children aged 2 & 1 and even at that young age there was plenty to amuse them. fab baby pool, football pitch, playground, bouncing castle. the kids clubs for the older children was excellent and there was entertainment on every night. the apartments were spotless and cleaned 5 days per week. the apartments are also in an excellent location and only a 5 min walk from beach. excellent apartment in a great location and we will be returning again next year.

“Good base for a self catering holiday”

Viva Sunrise

3 of 5 stars
Birmingham, United Kingdom
Jan 15, 2008
9/9 found this review helpful

We stayed at the Viva Sunrise from 25/09 - 02/10 last year.
We are a family of five with three children, aged 9, 7 and 2.
We had a two bedroomed apartment, with a cot for our youngest child.
The apartment was basic, but clean and ideal as a base for a self catering holiday. There was a kitchenette and dining area, which we only used at breakfast time for the children to eat cereals. Most cooking utensils were present, except for bowls.
I had read about this on a review on here, so went prepared with some plastic bowls for the children just to have their cereals in the mornings. There was also no kettle, but to be honest, this didn't matter, as we just used a saucepan to heat water for coffee etc.
We spent most afternoons around the hotel childrens pool area.
Our three children loved the pool, there were slides and a waterfall type tree in it, where they had great fun playing. There was also a bouncy castle and little playground at that end of the pool area. The children didn't really join in with the kids club, they were too busy doing their own thing.
The whole pool area was lovely and clean, with plenty of sun loungers during out stay, probably due to the fact that is was school term time.
There were a real mix of Europeans staying at the hotel, which is one of the reasons we chose it. Our children made friends with children from all different nationalities, language seems to be no barrier for children.
There is a poolside bar, serving snack type foods. The food was generally OK, we ate lunch there a few times.
We didn't bother with the night time entertainment, it's not really our thing, so not sure what that was like.
The room was cleaned most days. The only thing is, they use water to mop the tiled floors, which if you're out and it has dried by the time you come back is fine. However, a couple of times we were in the apartment when it was cleaned, and our youngest did slip over a couple of times, banging his head on one occassion. Luckily he was OK. Just thought it worth mentioning this.
We had a lovely corner apartment, with a balcony stretching around the hotel corner. Lovely to sit out on a warm evening. Just a word of warning: as others have mentioned, you can not open the balcony doors from outside, so it's best to leave them open whilst on the balcony.
We never ate in the hotel restaurant so can't comment on the food there, we chose to eat out in the resort, there are plenty of steakhouses selling the same kind of food. We particularly liked the steakhouse on the corner under the hotel, out of the ones that we dined at.
There is also a KFC and Pizza Hut, if you like that kind of thing.

All in all, we enjoyed our holiday at this hotel. It was our first time to Alcudia, and have to say that the beach is fantastic. We spent every morning on the beautiful sandy beach, the kids could go really far out without the water being too deep, which was great.

If we were to go back to Alcudia, then we would probably stay at the Viva Sunrise again. However, Alcudia isn't really our kind of holiday resort, so this would be unlikely.
