Well, to begin we have been to alot of the other Fc holiday villages, and this was the worse one out of the ones on offer. it was very small in comparison to the others, and we found it not great value for money. We have 2 girls 5 and 18 months and travelled with our friends who have 16 month old twins. We found it very "chav"..in respect that parents were LEAVING thier kids a sleep in rooms while they went out for that all important all inclusive rubbish beer and ear renching shows performed by the staff - un-real in light of recent events.
We had a "quite" room in block 3, but it was so loud we had to complain a couple of times which made no diffference at all, but really excessivly loud to the point where we could not hear each other on the balcony! this was going on till midnight and we could not sleep nor could our kids!
Also there was alot of smoking and sangria going around! adults messing in the pool very late at night, causing breakages and the kids had cut feet in the morning! not a clever thing to do! its not 18-30's its a FAMILY village! The "clientele" definatly ruined it for us, as well as the good old Brits getting up at 6.45am! to reserve loungers (no German's in sight) we would be down by 9am and would only managed to get 1 lounger between 4 adults and 4 kids! but refused to JOIN the Brits abroad mentality!
The food was ok, themed restaurants rubbish! we waited an hour for main meals in both restaurant (not good with small hungry kids!)
they accommodated us for soya milk for our youngest baby who is lactose intolerant and supplied us with Alpro every day which was nice.
All in all, nothing really major wrong with the hotel, but wouldn't go back... location is WAY out... 1 hr transfer too long for kids and babies (4 kids were vomiting on the way home due to the long twisty ride! - STANK the whole way!!)
Go and see yourself but good luck!

“Great for Kids”

Viva Can Picafort

Aug 29, 2008

We went with our daughter, son in law and their three boys (aged 9, 5 & 2)
The appartments were excellent, with air con, kitchenette and seperate bedroom and living area, which was massive for the two of us.
The grounds were beautifully kept.
The hotel staff were great, sorting out the silly little things , like room key losing its code and the dead bolt getting somehow engaged, locking us out of the room , After dismanteling the door lock and still not getting us in, I was a little concerned to see the maintenance man go next door, jump over the balcony and gain entry through the patio door in about 10 seconds.

The food is very good, but is is not England so do not expect English bacon, Rice Crispies, ect.
You will not go hungry as there is plenty of other dishes to tempt you.
While we were there, 2 people slipped on the dining room floor and about 6 kids managed to fall off their chairs as the wooden chair legs do not grip the marble floor, so be carefull.

We hardley saw our older grandson as he was off to the clubs every day with the "in2action" team and at night playing with the new friends he met during the day.
The 5 year old was not left out with organised activities at night like, "Clown School" and "Chocolate Party". There was even a chreche for the 2 year old.

This is a family resort so the entertainment is geared towards the children, even the adult entertainment seems to be for the kids to laugh at mom and dad making a fool of themselves.

The only thing we found wrong was the sound system was "all over the place" being too quiet one second then blasting your ear drums out the next, depending on who was working the controls, which was a shame, because the entertainers were trying their best. I spoke to them and they assured me that they were looking in to it, so hopefully it should be ok for when we make a return visit next year.

“wonderful holiday”

Viva Can Picafort

Aug 27, 2008

we have just returned from a fortnight stay at first choice holiday village viva. we had a wonderful time, the hotel and staff were amazing. The rooms were comfortable and very clean with maid service 5 times a week. The layout of the hotel was excellent with swimming facalities for all ages. Entertainment staff worked very hard ensuring everyone had a great time. The kids clubs were very well run with a lot of activites for all ages. Now down to the most important part the all inclusive food was very very good with a different selection of dishes every night and the puddings were amazing. The drinks were also very good with lots of different drinks for adults and children.
we would most certainly return here for another holiday.

“Great Hotel, Great Facilities”

Viva Can Picafort

Aug 25, 2008

We went to the Holiday Village Viva for the first 2 weeks in August (2008) - myself, my wife and 2 kids (aged 6 and 3).

The hotel is great, well laid out, hotel staff are very good and very friendly. The hotel is also very clean, with all areas constantly being cleaned by the staff. The pool bar is very nice and comfortable for day time use, set between the main pool and the Kids Splash Pool. Ususal fare here, burgers, hot dogs, chips etc and also some good salads...

All the pools are fantastic with the main pool(s) divided by a waterfall lovely for a dip or to take part in the organised water polo. The kids splash pool is aimed at the younger kids with little slides, jets etc and would not be more than a foot deep. Good to get seats around this pool if you have younger kids as you can keep an eye on them from comfort of your sun lounger.

We had not gone for the all inclusive as we do not like to eat in the same place for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Instead, we went down to the resort centre (10 mins walk) where there were some lovely restaurants on the way to and along the sea front. This was nice for a change on scenery... We did however go for all inclusive for last 4 days which is not too bad although the food can be a bit of a let down, more so for the evening meals. The breakfast is great and sets you up for the day...

All inclusive guests wear an arm band which shows staff if you are paying or not... We did hear of people who did all inclusive for one day mid holiday but then kept their arm bands and there is no checking on this. If you have the band the staff just keep giving you the drinks.

The morning drill for securing sun loungers is a bit much, not so much getting the loungers as there are ample but people are jostling for paricular areas around the pool. The sun loungers are all chained up in piles each night, and unlocked at 08.30. However people begin going out at 07.00 and putting towels on the ground where they wish to be for the day. Whilst this is not ideal, unfortunately you need to play the game and so I used to go out and put our towels on ground at 07.30 and then go use the internet or have a coffee in restaurant before coming back in time for the unlocking at 08.30... This is not ideal but once this is done you are set for the day...

Overall this is a great hotel, with loads of activities for all ages, food not bad, plenty of drinks, very clean and staff are excellent. TV in rooms also has BBC1, BBC2, CBeebies (becomes BBC3 at night), CBBC (becomes BBC4 at night), Sky News, CNN. There is also a good sports bar if you are there when any matches etc on (sky sports)...

Would really recommend this hotel, but for families only, as it is noisy during day as you expect in a hotel catered for kids (this is not a critiscism). We all had a great holiday in HVV

“Perfect”

Viva Can Picafort

Brilliant hotel. Went with 2 kids (10 and 8). Didn't see them for the whole week. The 10yr old was in the Wavelength Club doing archery, high ropes climbing sea scooters and much more during the day then back there from 9 until 11 doing other stuff. The 8yr old didn't join his club but kept busy playing ping-pong, football or in the pool. The have a marvelous time which meant I had a relaxing time.
You do have to get up at 8:30 to get a sunbed if you are staying on site though. The beach is 10 minutes walk and the sea is warm! The pools are clean and big enough that you don't feel like sardines. A covered splash pool for the younger ones is fun.

The rooms are spacious and clean with a tv, fridge and kettle. The air-con is a godsend in the summer.

The pool bar is fine for burgers, sandwiches and chips. The main buffet gets busy and you feel as though you have to rush your meal but hey your not there to sit inside all day. The food was great and plenty of it for kids and adults. Especially liked chocolate pancakes after the full English in the mornings.

Staff were great and always ready to help.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week away.
