“Wonderful Rocamar”

Hotel Rocamar

Jul 20, 2008

We booked Sea view but were upgraded to superior (Floor 6).
Clean, comfortable room with balcony giving superb views of the whole town and bay.
Plenty of parking space. Hotel is very secluded, a 10 minute walk to centre of town and sandy beach. Hotel has direct access to two pebble beaches - one via approx 100 steps, the other via about 40.
Excellent breakfast buffet (hot/cold/pastries/fruit etc.). Dinner (20 euros fixed menu if booked in advance) served on terrace overlooking pool/Conca beach - substantial starter/excellent meat/fish main course/average dessert.
Had an excellent 4 day stay and would come again.

“phone booking”

Hotel Rocamar

Jul 12, 2008

We called and could not get a booking because we had a baby and so they could not accomodate all of us in any of the available rooms.
They count the baby as a person and they could not understand that we did not need a full extra bed for the baby but just a tiny bed we would bring. Not nice at all over the phone. Sounds strange as the hotel does seem charming. Is it just one waiter ? , the manager of the hotel or the owner ?
But it is ashame. In any case, we won t try again as it kind of put us down about this hotel.

“Great for peace and quiet”

Hotel Rocamar

Jul 6, 2008

Just got back from a 5 night stay at the Rocomar. Cadeques can be very busy and noisy but the Rocomar is well away from the hustle and bustle but just a short walk to get to the restaurants and shops. Had a lovely clean and spacious room overlooking the bay, and the air conditioning really worked!
We liked the peace and quiet here. The restaurant looks out directly onto the bay and was lovely for lunches and evening meals. Stayed half board and couldn't fault the food and the service. Quick and good-sized portions. The buffet breakfasts were plentiful and offered pastires, bread, cold meats, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, bacon, sausages etc.
The hotel has a grandeur of days gone by but everywhere was clean, recently decorated and of a style to suit the area.
Would recommend and return again.

“Best in town”

Hotel Rocamar

4 of 5 stars
New Jersey
Apr 7, 2008

We have travelled to Cadaques 3-4 times in the last 5 years. Each time we have stayed at the Rocamar. It's more remote than the other offerings in town; on a high hill on the edge of town with a nice beach below the property. The restaurant is excellent for lunch, overlooking the pool and magnificent sea views toward the lighthouse. As noted in other reviews, they can be a bit lax with their maintenace ( the garbage can was overflowing in the parking lot for a few days until someone finally noticed). Rooms on the upper floors with sea or bay views are the best. Lower floors have terraces overlooking the parking lot. Town center is a 10 minute walk which begins down a 100+ stone steps to beach in front of the neighboring 3 star LLane Petit Hotel. The trip home ends with the same steps, but up! Not a good choice for anyone who does't enjoy a good hike. For those that do enjoy hiking, the Hotel borders a trail that leads out to the lighthouse, on high cliffs and past a beautiful remote beach. It's about 2 miles each way. Overall the Rocamar is the best choice in town, unless you don't enjoy a bit of walking. The Playa Sol is the best choice in "el centro" but doesn't have as nice a beach.

“Worst hotel in Cadeques”

Hotel Rocamar

Sep 25, 2007
2/2 found this review helpful

We recently toured Spain and arrived at Cadeques and instantly loved the town - we had been very cautious with our budget staying in mainly 2* hotels en route and we decided to treat ourselves to the best hotel in town as we though we'd stay for a couple of days. What a mistake! The room was on the 'premier etage' or dungeon as we named it ,with a 'sea view' of the car park. The room was very dusty with basic amenties for a 3* hotel. This hotel is overpriced (180 euros) with terrible rooms, terrible breakfast and unsuable facilities. Thank goodness we didn't let it ruin our stay in Cadeques!
