I my husband and 2 grandchildren a girl and a boy ages 6/7 have just returned from the maritim hotel.After reading mixed reviews, we did not know what to expect but we worried needlessly.We were pleasantly surprised as we observed a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with plenty of wardrobe space/hangers/ as many pillows as requested, a large balcony and bathroom. We had booked a family room. Our room was on the fourth floor with a sea view. The only down side to this was that the teenagers are on the beach till the early hours of the morning ,so if you are light sleepers you may find this disturbing and would be better off with a pool view room. The food was fine and plentiful. There was no excuse to come away hungry. There are many nationalities staying there and we found this wonderful as they are all family orientated. You will play the funniest game of bingo ever in all nationalities. It puts a new light on such a mundane game. The kids entertainment is great with a mini club at 3pm for two hours and a mini disco of an evening.There was even a foam party for them! The adult entertainment was as good as any including professional shows.There are lots of plusses to this hotel such as roof terrace/indoor pool/ jacuzzi. The down side would be that there are some very small balconies not large enough to sit on and the sea view rooms can be noisy at night due to rowdy teenagers that come home in the small hours after partying.If you are a light sleeper a pool view room would be preferable.The hotel drinks whether soft or alcoholic are a little on the expensive side but they seemed to be outside of the hotel as well. We paid a little extra for lunch as well and this was well worth the money at £4 per head .A special thanks to Alba the childrens entertainer who was loved by all. All in all a nice little hotel for a family holiday. Would return if going with children

Stayed for two weeks at the Maritim with my partner in June 2008.
I was a little disappointed with the food which was always a combination of chips, salad and whatever they could mix up.
There were a couple of good nights of entertainment involving flamenca and disco but several nights with no entertainment at all which is not good considering the price we paid.
The rooms were ok, but there was no fridge to hand so it meant buying drinks constantly.
Pool and jacuzzi was nice indoor and out.
Overall a standard hotel with need for great improvement.

The hotel was very clean. Pools OK but a little small. The indoor pool was handy when the weather wasn't too good. Other facilities were also good . Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals, English, continental, breads fruit, yoghurts etc. We tried lunch one day, which was OK but a bit limited in choice. The biggest drawback were the evening meals. Although generally OK, particularly given the price, it would have been better to let one dish become empty before topping it up. Paella with rice from 4 different top ups wasn't particularly enjoyable. Helping yourself to as much as you wanted was good with a hungry teenager in the party. Also, drinks with lunch or dinner were extra - to be expected with beer or wine, but a bit of a surprise if you just wanted a glass of water - the water dispenser available at breakfast is turned off for other meals.

Staff in the dining room were helpful and friendly. This varied a little more with the staff on reception. Using the occasional Spanish, or better still Catalan phrases was always appreciated.

The hotel was well situated, just across the road from the beach and the main shopping streets are only a couple of minutes walk. The railway station is about 10 - 15 minutes away. Rail travel is cheap, clean and reliable. Overall I think the hotel offered very good value for money, although I would go B&B next time.

just spent a four day break here. The hotel is spotless, room cleaned to a very high standard. Worth paying the extra for a sea view. The roof terrace is fantastic 2 hot tubs and plenty of loungers. Food - plenty to choose from. Staff always friendly and helpful. Plenty of shops. No too far from train station, journery to Barcelona 6 euro 40 return. Would go back.
