We stayed in The Loft for a night, just for a romantic getaway, and it was absolutely perfect! The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. It was so quiet and peaceful at The Loft, and the panoramic view of the ocean was just incredible. The jacuzzi was very relaxing, and the room had everything we needed for a romantic night for 2. We absolutely hated to leave, but vowed to go back again sometime. The check-in and check-out went very smoothly, and the service was great! Two thumbs up!

We stopped at this property yesterday hoping to have lunch. Of the 3 possibilities for food in Portugal Cove, it appeared to be the most modern.

We got a very friendly greeting from the landscape worker outside.

When we entered to approach the restaurant we learned that it is open for dinner only, not lunch.

The lady who greeted us, apparently an owner, was unable to answer a question about the local area because she apparently is too wrapped up in running her own property to be aware of what's going on in the neighbourhood or with the competition.

It was also apparent in our 10 minute conversation with her that she was sizing us up as to whether we were appropriate clientele for her establishment. She was initially very guarded in her conversation with us, the inference being that, based on our appearance perhaps, we were not sufficiently well-heeled to afford the place.

Her attitude changed significantly once we mentioned that we had just recently returned from our second trip to New Zealand and that we had travelled to St. John's for the three-day long weekend (apparently this made us sufficient jet-setter types to be worthy of the accommodation.)

The dinner menu may be worthy of the high prices, I don't know. The restaurant appears spartanly decorated. Perhaps this is to avoid detracting from the beautiful views, but would a few tasteful prints on the walls be so difficult?

Stayed here at Portugal Cove last week. The reception was warm, the room was great and the view was fantastic. I recommend prearranging the breakfast tray, it is generous and good value. If you are on a budget, skip the Atlantis restaurant and walk up the road to Beachy Cove Cafe, their food is "down home", delicious and reasonable

Me and my boyfriend stayed here and had a great time! It was my first time there, but I would definitely go again! It is a very new property, and the rooms are extremely clean. We stayed in the Dokovie Suite, which was really cozy. There was full kitchen facilities, a queen size bed, a double jacuzzi that faced the ocean, and a little seating area that was perfect for sitting in to have a glass of wine and watch the ferry go back and forth. The staff were very friendly; we asked the girl at the desk to take a picture of myself and my boyfriend and she brought us into the restaurant area and waited for the ferry to line up and everything to have a nice backdrop. When we went to cook supper, we realized that there was no pot in our room (yet there were frying pans, etc) and they brought one right over. Overall, we had a wonderful time and for the price would highly recommend the Beach House!
