“didn't stay but LOVED Nomadas!!!”

La Cima Hotel

May 11, 2008

We stayed at a beach house in Isabela and traveled all over the island...Nomadas was by far the best meal we had! salmon was cooked perfectly, the salads where amazing(mixed greens, good tomatoes and good dressing hard to find in most places), the churrasco steak was the best i've ever had.
we even got dessert--which we never do--but figured it would be worth it if it was as good as dinner.

After 30 days here I think I can give an opinion. The stay has been home away from home. Started in room 301, great studio for a long stay, but got tired of the stairs and carrying my computer and papers up and down everyday and asked to be moved. I packed they moved me to 102 in front of the Pools and jacuzzi, love the sound of the waterfall at night. The 2 restaurants have great food and are very accomodating with special requests of things not on the menu. Got to be on a first name basis with the Fantastic Staff, from Frankie, Gladys, Lucy and even the cheff at the Nomada Rest. Rooms and grounds very clean. It is not the RITZ but it is sure a nice place to stay!!! Thumbs Up from me. The resident at 102.

“I Loved The Hotel”

The LA CIMA was ranked among the top five hotels on the Puerto Rico Tourist Board Website. I totally agree - my stay was very relaxing. I was in the builidng overlooking the pool and stayed in Room 206. Clean, comfortable beds and living space, cable television, spacious pool, barbecue area, ample parking - all the comforts of home at a very affordable price. The hotel is on a busy road and there are two restaurants in the hotel compound with a pizza restaurant directly across the road. The hotel offers close promixity to the Aquadilla Airport. The staff are gems, but especially Lucy (a sweetheart) at the front desk & the lovely laundry lady who enabled me to dry my clothes so nothing was packed wet. I will definitely come back. Only one drawback - the plug-in gym machines were not working, so I used the exercise bike.

“Very nice--will return”

I just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel, and I will definately return. I was in Room 103, which is by the pool. The room was very clean on arrival, and housekeeping was there every day to straighten it up. The room was quite large and had a very comfortable king-size bed, a sofa/sitting area, microwave, refrigerator, coffee-maker with daily refills of coffee, in-room safe, hairdryer, a liquid soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower, and an iron/ironing board. The cable TV worked perfectly, and the water was VERY hot in the large shower.
On the property is a cocktail lounge which is open until midnight, a Chinese Restaurant, and a Continental restaurant, which is also open for breakfast. Breakfast was around $6.00, and the dinners ranged from $7.00--$16.00. The food was quite good, and any special requests were not a problem. There is also an exercise room, and game room for guests to use. The staff was extremely friendly, and helpful in planning day trips. For $85.00 a night, this hotel is a great value--and location wise, you can't beat it. 10 minutes to anywhere in town. The hotel looks better than the photos.

“Terrible experience with the manager”

La Cima Hotel

Jul 14, 2007

Terrible experience....We stayed in this "hotel" with my wife's family on june 22 through june 24 2007. My wife's family arrive first and did the check in for all of us. We arrive later in the night. Next day we came to front desk to ask for the pool purses and after waiting there for about 20 minutes my wife an I asked very gently if there were a problem on giving us the purses. The manager came out from his office yelling at us and threatening with his hands(almost hit us) with a complete lack of respect attitude accusing us of trying to use the pool without a reservation. He was asking me to pay a ridiculous high additional amount for my 10 months old infant child. After discussion the trip was ruined . He apologized with my wifes family for his attitude. Anyway the pool had cigarette smell and a lot of drunk people drinking inside it and throwing ice. I don't recommend you to stay here. Partially it was my fault, some friends told me not to stay there.

In response to the posting for “Terrible Exp. w/ the Manager”…

It is unfortunate this guest was not able to take with him a pleasant experience of our hotel; however, of our many years in the hospitality business, unhappy guests are very minimal. The few unhappy customers, is due to the fact that guests find it difficult to comply with rules that are set precisely for their own protection.

First of all, this suite is for a total of 4 people, (it is the maximum of people allowed by the Puerto Rico Fire Department). This suite had been reserved for his wife’s family. At the time of the reservation we had made an exception in allowing 5 people instead of 4. It wasn’t until the day of arrival that we found out there would be 7 people staying instead of 5. The following day this gentleman comes to the Front Desk asking for an additional pool bracelet bringing the total to 8 people in a room that has a maximum capacity of four. Under normal circumstances we would have recommended he reserved another suite for him and his family, but due to the fact that we were completely sold out for the weekend, I asked that he pay for the additonal 8th person and stay in the 4 person family suite.

As manager I am used to dealing with situations similar to this one where guests will try to occupy the room with more than the actual registered amount of people. However, I have never come upon a guest who has disrespected me in the manner this gentlemen did just because they were told they would have to pay an additional fee for the extra person. Hopefully this experience will be an isolated one on our part.
