“Great, quaint inn”

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple of nights recently and decided it was a great place to lay our head's. Small, but cozy PLH is a great median inn close to all the main amenities. Two minutes walking to breakfast (Pandeli bakery), markets and bars that offer great eat's! The owners' son went out of his way one evening to expedite the solution of an unexpected personal... crisis (?!), taking me to a farther away convenience store in his privately owned vehicle no questions asked. Too friendly for anyplace! PLH offers air conditioned rooms which include cable television and a romantic rear patio/deck on the canal where you can smooch, feed the large local Tarpon or BBQ your own meals if you decide to lounge. Regardless, you're really there to explore the island so check this place out! I'd recommend PLH to anybody who asked. Best to you ;O)

“Great Find”

This place was just a treasure to find! An 8 min stroll from the ferry dock we were greeted by a friendly front desk person who turned out to be most resourceful and fully approachable with any and all questions we could come up with. The Inn is a VERY clean compact place situated alongside the water canal. It has a wonderful water front patio which we took advantage of for a beautiful sunset. The room was very clean and stocked with all the usual amenities; clean towels, soaps, fridge but also a mini ice chest we found most useful since we were going to visit Flamenco Beach. This place was so relaxing and the staff was so nice and pleasant we just had a great time here. We could relax, laugh and lounge to our hearts desire here. Culebra is a small island and this is a fitting inn to match the tranquility we were looking for. We will stay here again for sure.

“Good at Posada la Hamaca”

Posada la Hamaca

Our visit to Culebra was everything we thought it would be and more. We did not expect much from the accommodations based on others review. We were pleased with Posada la Hamaca, the palace of the Hammock. It was clean, and Adam very accomodating. He even allowed us to change to another room which was larger when it became available. Air conditioning works great. The roosters "as expected" crow all night. And I mean all night. Someone should tell them its supposed to be sunrise for crowing. Don't expect your beds made or clean linens. Its just like at home, do it yourself. However, it was better than we had expected. Food on the other hand is very expensive and not very good. We found that buying our own groceries was a better deal. Many wonderfully beautiful beaches to explore. Find the ones away from the crowds, and you have nature to your selves. We will go back again.

“Strange experience”

The room was clean and had Direct TV which was good. The rooms are very small for the money, but one is really there for the beach, I suppose. The owner leered at me which made me feel uncomfy and I had to say something to him. I wanted to change places to stay but I was already there and on the beach all day anyway. I stayed in room 3, and on the 2nd night, the TV came on all by itself.. the 3rd and final night, the ceiling fan was off when I woke up in the morning. I clearly remember standing on the bed and pulling the chain for the fan, meanwhile the wall switch in on position. When I awoke in the morning, the wall switch was in the off position. That being said, I didn't feel fearful of the entity that was there..not at all.
Flamenco beach is worth traveling all the way to Culebra for. There were tourists from Spain., Sweden, the US.. all over.
I went by myself as a gift from my bf (he was unable to come..:( ), but I met a group of young, hip, educated Puerto Rican men and women from the big island camping on the beach, which is permitted there. They had brought their car on the cargo ferry, full of all their provisions. I had a great time with them. Everyone on the beach was super cool. Glass bottles are not permitted and there is a cop at the entrance checking everyone's coolers..fyi.
