My husband and I decided on the Inn at Three Bridge for his birthday. We stayed 2 nights in the Guest House which was a separate cottage from the main house. It's even better than the pictures on the website, www.threebridgeinn.com. Sally, the innkeeper was very hospitable and met us in the driveway when we arrived. When she opened the door to our cottage, we were pleasantly surprised. Sally had the fireplace on for us and music playing in the background. We loved the fact that it was very roomy and cozy, just perfect for my husband's birthday. Sally even had a special cake for him in the kitchen area along with several of his favorite goodies (Doritos, Dr. Pepper, etc.). The kitchen was stocked with packaged buns, muffins, cereal, juice, coffee, sodas, frozen bars, yogurt, plates, mugs, utensils, etc. We brought our own eggs and bacon to make breakfast, which we didn't mind since we could stay in our pajamas and get up whenever we wanted to. It was nice not having to get dressed and "prepared" to go eat breakfast at a set time. The king bed was extremely comfortable with plush linens which made for a good night's sleep. It was the perfect atmosphere for relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is so quiet in Powhatan! We live in Richmond, only 45 minutes away, and it seemed as if we were in a remote location. Sally had several recommedations for take out and eat-in restaurants for lunch and dinner. There are also several restaurants on Route 60. The inn also has a pool and a NEW hot tub. We will definitely return to Three Bridge and would recommend it to couples for any occasion: anniversaries, honeymoooners, birthdays, getaways, etc.
