We have been to the McCormick & Schmicks Restuarant directly across the street from this M & S Grill more than a half dozen times. Every experience was terrible - both food and service - so we were never interested in trying this related restaurant. However, we got a discount coupon for a substantial savings at M & S - so we decided we would give it a whirl. It was terrible! Terrible! Terrible! There were only two good things about the visit - the bread is absolutely excellent and the booth seat was very comfortable. That's it. Our server had too many tables and it was constantly a struggle for him to get to us. It took about 15 minutes to get the one cocktail and two glasses of water we ordered. The salads arrived somewhat promptly but had far too much dressing. We had one order of broiled crab cakes and one broiled seafood platter. The broiled platter was overcooked - things were dried up and not attractive as well as not tasty. Something on the platter was rotted - we think it was the crab cake. The broiled crab cakes arrived fried - but given the horrible service we decided just to keep them or we'd never get to eat. When we were done eating the server appeared to ask if everything was okay - I said it was fine but that my crab cakes arrived fried and not broiled - he said he noticed that when they were brought out and "Did I want to have them recooked"? This was absurd because he acknowlegded that he noticed we were being served the wrong order - but he served it anyway and also because we were clearly done eating by the time he made that offer. Finally, restaurants of this price range usually have someone filling water glasses regularly - but at this place that was up to the server that you could never find. Since water was our primary drink, it was a huge problem. We will absolutely not return to this place. Really bad food, uncaring and unattentive service all for a $100 weeknight meal for two. Red Lobster is much better - at least you get what you pay for there.
