“Great Business Hotel”

Courtyard by Marriott Roanoke Airport

4 of 5 stars
Long Beach, CA
Mar 31, 2008

My friend and I stayed at the Courtyard Roanoke Airport for one night on Tues., Mar. 24. We arrived for check-in at almost 8pm, but I'd called ahead of time and everyone at the front desk was extremely friendly.

Our room was close to the elevator, and you could hear hallway and elevator noise through the door. The great part about the room, though, was the way it was set up for business travellers. There was an extra pull-out desk, plenty of outlets, and free wireless Internet.

This was the only Marriott, though, of the three we stayed in on our vacation, (and of all the hotels we stayed in) that did not offer free breakfast. $9.99 for the standard hotel breakfast buffet didn't appeal to us.

The front desk had a great list of directions to and from nearby restaurants and stores. Plus, they had a 24-hour "market" in the lobby where someone could purchase drinks and snacks.

Overall, our stay here was very pleasant, and the only real complaint is the lack of breakfast.

From check in to check out, I was treated wonderfully by all of the staff. They were quick to greet me and serve me in the restaurant. Always friendly with a smile. The room was very clean! No complaints at all about this hotel - will come back.

“Met Expectations”

Courtyard by Marriott Roanoke Airport

4 of 5 stars
Arlington, VA
Feb 26, 2008

The room was a standard Courtyard Marriott. The woman who checked us in, around midnight, was exceptionally friendly and helpful as was the security guard in the reception area.
The bed was slightly uncomfortable, but otherwise no complaints.
I appreciated the free internet in the lobby.

“probably best place to stay in roanoke”

Courtyard by Marriott Roanoke Airport

I have stayed at Country Inn, Hampton Inn, and Hotel Roanoke and for the money this is the best place to stay in the area, assuming the location works for you, i.e. near airport. The rooms are topnotch; there is a small business center; a bar and restaurant during the week; and super nice staff. Highly recommend.

“Great Hotel, Horrible Beds”

Courtyard by Marriott Roanoke Airport

3 of 5 stars
Franklin, Tennessee
Feb 21, 2008

Hi,

We stayed here while travel back to Virginia from Tennessee. We have always had a wonderful stay with Marriott Courtyard Hotels.

The hotel was very clean and had a very friendly/helpful staff. My only true complaint was the beds.

The beds were horrible! Old and firm. My husband and I ended up taking the air mattress we had been traveling with out of the car, bringing it inside, blowing it up in our room and sleeping on that for the night.

The next morning, we told the manger about the beds. She said there were other complaints and they would be getting new beds soon. Hopefully they did. :)
