My sister and I met to relax a few days before Christmas. I had never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before but this was a charming introduction to this travel option. We took a ferry ride to Williamsburg and Jamestown which was only a half hour away. Each bedroom has a fireplace and private bath. The beds were very comfortable. A hearty breakfast is served on a century old table. The host is well informed on the area and after preparing breakfast, gave us some local history and visitors information. The Inn is located on a rural road just outside of Smthfield, Virginia, a delightful town with its own beautiful views. The owners do have small dogs and cats but these are not in the sleeping or food areas.
A Bed and Breakfast is certainly an alternative way to travel and I would consider that route again if I were just looking for peace and quiet.
